𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 sets the stage for India’s transformation into a global AI and DeepTech hub, strongly emphasising digital infrastructure, R&D, and talent development. The budget reflects India's ambition to lead in next-generation technologies with a total allocation of ₹4,349.75 crore ($520 million) for AI-related initiatives.⁣ ⁣ 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬⁣ ✅𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘈𝘐 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 – ₹2,000 crore ($240 million) allocated, marking a 1056% increase from the previous year, aimed at AI integration in agriculture, healthcare, and industry. Subsidised GPU access will enable startups and researchers to develop homegrown AI models.⁣ ⁣ ✅𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 (𝘊𝘰𝘌) 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘐 – ₹500 crore ($60 million) set aside for a dedicated AI research centre in education, adding to the three existing CoEs.⁣ ⁣ ✅𝘈𝘐 𝘪𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 & 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 – ₹200 crore ($24 million) allocated to expand AI use in policy-making, urban planning, and administrative efficiency, an 82% increase from FY25.⁣ ⁣ ✅𝘊𝘺𝘣𝘦𝘳-𝘗𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 & 𝘙&𝘋 – AI will be a key component in the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) and IT/Electronics R&D initiatives, ensuring cutting-edge advancements.⁣ ⁣ Additionally, ₹𝟐𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐞 ($2.4 billion) 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 to promote private sector-driven innovation.
