Last week, we hosted a group of women AI enthusiasts at #Careem as part of the Women in AI initiative led by Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation and Zaka.ai. Careem’s VP of Product, Data & AI presented Careem’s AI strategy and talked through our roadmap to creating even smarter, more intuitive experiences for our customer and captains while optimizing the efficiency of our platform. We had the pleasure of hosting an Amazon Web Services (AWS) local community meetup at our #Careem Karachi office, bringing together over 80 technology enthusiasts and innovators 💡 With a focus on generative-AI, participants gained some hands-on experience exploring applications of tools such as Bedrock, and understanding how we can leverage AWS tools to solve challenges and drive innovative solutions. It was a wonderful day of collaboration and learning among some of the best innovative minds in the city! 🚀

Our co-founder and CEO Mudassir Sheikha joined an inspiring panel of founders at Abu Dhabi University to share insights from their entrepreneurial journeys. Speaking to 150+ curious young minds, Mudassir reflected on #Careem’s early days and talked about how the mission to simplify life and drive economic development in the region helped him overcome the challenges of its startup phase. He also expressed immense pride in seeing this vision inspire over 300 Careem alumni to launch their own ventures. Thank you to Abu Dhabi University and all the future innovators in the room for such an engaging session! 💚

2024 was all about making life simpler in the region-bringing over 20 essential services together in our Everything App for unparalleled convenience. We grew our food and grocery services to become best-in-class, added electronics (and Udhiyah meat!) to our delivery lineup, and made international transfers a breeze with #Careem Pay. A huge shoutout to our customers, captains, and partners who helped us achieve some incredible moments: 💰 Careem Plus members saved an average of $82 per month in 2024 (some saved over $3,000 a month in Jordan and UAE!) 🍔 One foodie in the UAE placed a remarkable 1,531 Food orders throughout the year, spending over $9,600 on Careem Food. 💥 The fastest Careem Groceries delivery in Abu Dhabi hit a record with an order delivered in just 1 minute and 3 seconds.
