dabbagh architects are a licensed architectural consultancy based in Dubai, UAE, founded by Sumaya Dabbagh in 2008. Our services Services we provide at dabbagh architects include architectural design, interior design, as well as management of the design and construction process. We also provide a consultancy services for larger projects as project managers. We believe that the practice of architecture is about providing a service, not only an end product. Design by dabbagh architects, is modern but contextual, where “Form” not only “follows function” but also, location, context, and orientation. Our focus is on design aspects such as light, space, and materials in relation to the human scale as well as the human experience of space. The practice believes that successful projects are a result of successful collaboration between our clients and ourselves. Good rapport with our clients has proved to be a valuable asset, which has contributed to the success of our projects.

Huge thank you to Sharjah Architecture Triennial for hosting us and the Earth to Earth installation collaborators recently to present the installation. Special thanks to: Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Amel Chabbi and Felipe Gutiérrez for providing their support and team of expertise to build the mud-brick structure. Desert Board and ABANOS Interior Fit Out and Joinery for providing us the board material, and constructing it Huda Lighting for the lighting design and installation Intelier for capturing the essence of this collaboration in this superb video. And last but not least the amazing DA team Hala Nahas and Sherif Touma and the entire team. Earth to Earth is a piece of research into the inherent and collective memories held in materials: the Earth in the form of a mud brick structure and the palm tree in the form of Desert board; a wooden board made up of compressed palm fronds - it’s an invitation to remember our lost connections to the land, our story. The installation is part of the second edition of Sharjah Architecture Triennial curated by Tosin Oshinowo which is open until March 10th 2024. #earthenarchitecture
