New projects across various sectors are rapidly transforming the Middle East’s built environment — creating a region where people are actively relocating to or visiting in numbers as tourists. Over half of our survey respondents from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates reported labour rate increases in the last six months. Delivering sustainable data centres of the future 💻   Gleeds is thrilled to be providing project management office (PMO) services for one of Europe’s largest and most sustainable data centre projects, Start Campus.   This cutting-edge facility doesn’t just meet the growing demand for AI and high-performance computing - it sets a new benchmark for innovation and sustainability on a global scale, redefining the future of digital infrastructure. After supporting the successful delivery of its first building (SIN01), Gleeds continues to deliver PMO services for the second project (SIN02). This involves the construction of a new 180MW, two-storey, concurrently maintainable data centre that is powered by 100% renewable energy and using the ocean as a heat sink.   Joseph McCracken, Project Director commented: “Gleeds is delighted to be working as PMO on this prestigious, boundary pushing project. It’s fantastic to be sharing the new designs and imagery for Belfast Stories, a public space, visitor attraction and creative hub which Gleeds is providing project and cost management services on. The city centre destination is set to open in 2030, and will focus on telling stories about the people who have lived in and visited Belfast.   The milestone project is set to transform the Northern Irish capital, and is currently open for public consultation. Transforming the approach to schools delivery across Peru 🏫 Last night the Bicentennial Schools programme received a Judges Special Mention at the APM awards, acknowledging the transformative impact it has on school delivery in Peru. The schools programme, delivered by Gleeds and Mace, highlights the Peruvian government’s commitment to transform the nation's education.  Gleeds and Mace, as part of the British-Finnish consortium Koulu, are providing project management and consultancy services to deliver 75 schools across the region. The schools will provide access to high-quality education for over 118,000 students, helping them with their academic and personal development.  Americas Infrastructure Lead, Michael Penny commented: “Receiving an honourable mention at the APM Awards is testament to the transformative impact that the Bicentennial Schools programme is having on Peru’s education infrastructure. The combination of international best practices alongside innovative thinking has truly reshaped Peru’s educational landscape and paved the way for future transformation projects, as captured in our new film, created as part of our Koulu joint venture with Mace, the UK Government and supported by strategic partners in the Finnish Government”.
