Why did she join the life sciences field? “My primary reason for making the switch to the life sciences field was its high impact potential. In terms of my specialty, I chose consulting because I enjoy problem-solving and especially structuring complex and nebulous situations – essentially, bringing chaos to order. It is also appealing to me because of the immense and continuous learning opportunities, as each project has its own unique context to be understood and its own technical side to be explored.” “Due to the regional nature of my role, I have already had the opportunity to work with diverse teams across the globe. The corporate culture is very supportive, with IQVIANs lending a helping hand across geographical and departmental boundaries. Most of my day-to-day interactions are with the Africa team, where I would describe the culture as friendly, hardworking and big-picture focused.” What does Veselina do beyond work? “My hobbies tend to vary over time, but the most consistent has always been reading. These days, I am very partial to fiction and beyond my usual SciFi inclinations, I have developed a taste for LitRPG and especially Isekai. This week, on 20 November 2024, the #SouthAfrica team participated in a national in-office #MoveIt activation in partnership with Virgin Active. Employees from all over came to the office dressed in their exercise wear and they participated in a couple of fun activities as part of the annual MoveIt program. The activities included a plank challenge, where employees battled it out to see who can hold a plank position for the longest duration. Jean-Pierre Kitshoff walked away with the first prize, after holding his pose for a whopping 6 minutes! Afterwards, employees joined in for a fun and energy-filled kickboxing class and finished off with a few stretching exercises.   We are celebrating the fourth year of the annual MoveIt program and it keeps on growing every year. Although the campaign initially started initially in South Africa as a post-pandemic initiative to increase interaction between teams and encourage active lifestyles, the program expanded this year to include employees across the IQVIA AMESA region. The campaign takes place between September – November 2024. #WeareIQVIA
