This week our Lenntech Water Treatment Team had the opportunity to visit the facilities of #XylemWaterTreatment. in Warrington, UK. At this facility the UV systems of ATG UV Technologies are being produced. The training was joined by some colleagues of #XylemWaterSolutionsNetherlands. It was a very positive joined visit. As key partner, Lenntech Water Treatment Solutions R&D engineers participated in the Young Water Professionals (YWP) Benelux 2024 conference. Over three days, this event was the occasion to attend interesting presentations and workshops on various water-related technologies and applications. In this context, Johanna Hinrichs, Ingrid Pinel and Mingyuan Wei had the opportunity to present their work as part of our project, focusing on the application of membrane technology to treat oily industrial wastewater and the development of graphene-based membranes to overcome existing challenges. Lenntech was well represented at the 8th YWP BeNeLux conference held in Antwerpen, Belgium in July. Members of the R&D team Monique Woen, Johanna Hinrichs, Pooja Halvawala, Mingyuan Wei and Rishav Nawalsankar Phukan spent 3 full days meeting various researchers from the field of water/wastewater treatment and membrane technology to learn about the current research trends. Monique Woen presented Lenntech’s contribution to integrating membrane technology in key processes of a new hybrid biorefinery process – a step to improve sustainable production of bio-based chemicals and materials. With her presentation she won one of the ‘Best Oral Presentation Award’ out of 60 amazing presentations. Congratulations! We thank the conference organizers Tim Van Winckel and Michiel Van Tendeloo for providing Lenntech with a platform to bridge the gap between academia and industry by showcasing our results from various EU Funded projects. Always here to support our client! In October 2022, Lenntech has commissioned an WTP plant removing heavy metals from well water to produce natural spring water. The feed water contains no less than 1 mg/L of arsenic to treat. This system includes iron removal and absorbers installed in lead and lag configuration, using GEH media. This week, our commissioning and service team was on site to help our client to empty the filters, and implement preventive acid backwash to prevent scaling and therefore increase the media lifetime. Indeed, the natural mineral water also contains very high concentrations of calcium and bicarbonate which leads to slow precipitation of CaCO3 in the filters over time.
