الطير المبلل ما يخاف من قطرات المطر… وانا الطير.. 😂😂😂 A red flag moment… unexpected demands from the tiler! . He asked for payment on Day 2. . I’d sworn not to pay in advance, but I still gave him some. - A day later, he asked for more than double, - tried to corner us. - I knew the risk if I paid a lot in advance 🙄🙄🙄 He packed up, attitude on full display. I’m definitely getting used to the drama— a wet bird isn’t afraid of a few drops of rain!!! 🕊️💦

Bathroom tile work began Monday… Surprise #1:,😳 shower mixer was not installed properly leading to opening the area again - fault of the contractor I fired. Surprise #2: 😬Additional tiles ordered and cut to make the tiler work easier and to have extra for wastage and mistakes did not match the original in terms of color, pattern and finish. Surprise #3: 🙄 We asked the tiler zillion times if he can do a perfect 45 degree chamfering for the corners or should we order them chamfered to avoid risk but it is costly and takes time. Tiler said no need. Was this the end of the drama with the bathroom tiling? Motorized blinds! DESIGN objective: To recess them in the Bulkhead with side channels to track the fabric for total blackout. There were no as-built drawings. We had to open the bulkhead. There was a perimeter beam projecting too far Leaving no space to recess the blinds. What did we do to solve it? Key work involved adjusting the sprinkler height—isolating valves, draining water, and coordinating with the building team. We also ordered concealed air diffusers for AC testing and custom-sized access panels. The tiling contractor couldn’t finish because we had to order more tiles for a specific pattern—something the supplier should’ve communicated better. Meanwhile, the MEP contractor was supposed to cover the floor while working on the ceiling and sprinklers but didn’t. I stepped in, started organizing, and covered the floor myself. They eventually followed—feeling a bit embarrassed I was doing their job. In the end, the floor got covered, and the work moved forward.
