It was a pleasure for us to co-host our 'Innovation for Female Entrepreneurship' event on the sidelines of the Global Women's Forum 2024 in Dubai alongside Utopia Capital Management, and the IFC - International Finance Corporation. This was the successful output of IFC's WeFund Climate program of which VentureSouq is an inaugural cohort member. The discussion was led by VSQ General Partner, Climate, Sonia Weymuller, who moderated an insightful panel featuring Anissa Kanoun (IFC), Malanee Hutton (54 Collective), Fahim Sultan Al Qasimi (Seafood Souq), and Jane C. Glavan (Distant Imagery Solutions). The session explored the transformative role of female entrepreneurs in driving innovation, strategies to dismantle systemic biases through gender-inclusive practices, and the importance of fostering inclusive capital flows. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees and supporters for their invaluable engagement. We look forward to welcoming you to our future events! How far has your seafood travelled before it reaches your plate? 🐟🌍 By the time seafood lands on your table, it’s often passed through countless hands—caught, processed, packaged, transported, and sold. Along the way, it’s easy for the story behind it to get lost. This distance from its source raises important questions: Is it really what you think it is? Was it sourced responsibly? How can we know for sure? The further removed seafood becomes from its origins, the harder it is to guarantee its authenticity, quality, or sustainability. Shouldn’t we know the journey behind what we eat? 🌊 #traceability #transparency #seafood

Seafood passes through countless hands before it reaches your plate. Can you really identify where it’s from? 🐟 In a recent conversation with The Ethicalist Magazine, our co-founder Fahim Sultan Al Qasimi highlighted a critical issue in the seafood supply chain: the lack of visibility. When a product is so far removed from its original state, tracking its journey becomes nearly impossible. Without traceability, we risk undermining the authenticity and quality of the seafood we consume. It’s time to close the gap and make transparency the norm. Watch the clip to learn more about the story behind your plate. 👇 #traceability #seafood #supplychain
