Recent rulings against brands like Lloyds and Mazda underscore the risks of greenwashing, with potential fines from the Competition and Market Authority (CMA) set to take effect in 2025.   Key sectors such as banking, travel, and automotive are under increased scrutiny. Today we’ve announced new targets to improve representation of those from lower socio-economic backgrounds in our UK offices. We’re incredibly proud of our many transformative social mobility initiatives and to be rated a “Top Employer” by the Social Mobility Foundation – yet with the legal profession as a whole remaining one of the least diverse by socio-economic background, we know we must go further as a firm. By 2029, our aim is for a minimum of 20% of Simmons partners, managing associates, associates and trainees/apprentices in the UK to come from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
