A remarkable 95% reduction in single-use plastic bag usage has been achieved since the ban in June 2022! This has prevented 547,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and reduced 364 million plastic bags from our environment.   At Tadweer Group, we’re proud to support initiatives like these that drive sustainability and promote a circular economy. As Waste to Zero marks its one-year anniversary during #COP29, Tadweer Group is proud to reflect on the transformative strides this global coalition has made in addressing waste emissions and promoting sustainable waste management practices. Launched by Tadweer Group and endorsed by the وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Waste to Zero is entering an exciting new chapter under the visionary leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators, as the initiative’s new Chair. This milestone reinforces the initiative’s focus on driving innovative approaches and impactful collaborations to decarbonise the waste sector and promote sustainability.
