Announcing a New Partnership for a Sustainable Future We are excited to share that Umm Al Emarat Park has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tadweer Group to enhance community awareness and promote sustainable practices throughout Abu Dhabi. Aligned with Umm Al Emarat Park’s core values, this collaboration will focus on educating the community about the importance of recycling, proper waste segregation, and adopting more sustainable habits. This partnership will also see Tadweer Group expand its waste management services, including pre-collection assessments, data recording, and transportation of waste and recyclables post-collection, to further support sustainable waste practices within the park. The agreement was formalised at the Wisdom Garden, a space dedicated to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This serene garden stands as a tribute to his unwavering commitment to environmental conservation and his vision for a harmonious balance between progress and nature. The garden is a fitting backdrop for this important collaboration, as it reflects the values that both organisations are working to instil in the community. This partnership is set to inspire a wide range of educational activities and digital engagement opportunities, aimed at driving lasting change and making Abu Dhabi a global leader in sustainability. In 2024, Tadweer Group proudly entered into a strategic collaboration with EWEC | Emirates Water and Electricity Company and a leading Japanese consortium to develop one of the world’s most advanced Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plants near the Al Dhafra landfill in Abu Dhabi. This forward-thinking project is a major step towards advancing sustainable waste management and renewable energy production in the UAE. With a processing capacity of 900,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste per year, the new plant will tackle waste disposal challenges and generate enough electricity to power up to 52,500 homes annually across the country. The plant will use a high-efficiency steam turbine generator to convert waste into clean energy, contributing significantly to the UAE’s sustainability and energy diversification goals. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to supporting a circular economy and strengthening the UAE’s leadership in global sustainability efforts. We’re excited about the future of this groundbreaking initiative and the lasting positive impact it will have on our community and environment. #sustainability #innovation #wastemanagement

Advancing Sustainability Through Technology Tadweer Group is revolutionising waste management and recycling practices in Abu Dhabi. As part of our dedication to environmental sustainability and a cleaner future, in 2024, we rolled out the first 25 Tadweer Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs). This rollout, which took place in collaboration with local businesses and environmental partners, included launching the Tadweer Rewards app, which incentivises the community to recycle. The RVMs are engineered to accept plastic bottles and aluminium cans, enhancing sustainability practices and minimising landfill waste. These machines are strategically positioned in high-traffic areas throughout Abu Dhabi—including the Ministry of Finance, UAE, Rabdan Park, and Umm Al Emarat Park—offering residents an easy way to participate in environmental conservation. To date, these RVMs have successfully collected over 100,000 bottles, equivalent to 2 tons of waste recycled. This forward-thinking solution both simplifies recycling and motivates the community to actively engage in environmental stewardship.
