#Diversity and #inclusion have been at the core of our culture for many years, and we are proud to say that we have been among the first companies to drive #FemaleEmpowerment in the #energy sector in #SaudiArabia. From creating the right environment for female talent by establishing female rest areas, prayer rooms and toilets, to living a culture of respect and inclusion, to actively recruiting engineers from female universities and providing them with solid #training in the country as well as in the U.S., Europe and other places, GE Vernova solved numerous challenges to grow and empower our female workforce in the Kingdom. Hisham expressed his pride about our female empowerment success story, as over the past 15 years the share of women in our Saudi workforce has been continuously increasing, and many of our female employees have grown into leadership roles and taken responsibility in various functions, including field services. GE Vernova's dedication to advancing Iraq's energy transition took center stage at the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC) Autumn Conference in #Dubai. Rasheed Al Janabi, our President for #Iraq and Director of Middle East Government Affairs, showcased the company's 2024 accomplishments. These include significant maintenance and upgrade projects covering over 3 GW of generation capacity, supporting the Ministry of Electricity's record output of more than 27GW in the summer of 2024. We completed Phase 1 of the Advanced Gas Path upgrades on four 9F gas turbines at Besmaya power plant, with Phase 2 underway, potentially reducing CO2 emissions by up to 477,000 metric tons annually. In collaboration with Iraq's Ministry of #Electricity, we also completed six critical substations ahead of schedule, with more planned by summer 2025, and reached a pivotal milestone in #grid interconnection with the Kingdom of #Jordan. Additionally, we announced landmark agreements on long-term maintenance, the establishment of a Monitoring and Diagnostics (M&D) center, enhancing power generation capacity, and utilizing #FlaredGas to produce much needed electricity. Looking ahead, GE Vernova is committed to expanding power generation in Iraq through advanced gas turbines and exploring #HVDC technology for enhanced grid interconnection. Our heartfelt congratulations to the Qatari people and their leaders on #Qatar National Day! For 40+ years GE Vernova has contributed to powering Qatar’s progress, and we stand as proud partners to the country for decades to come. Qatar is taking big steps to expand the use of renewable energy and reduce the carbon intensity of its industrial activities. As part of the Qatar National Renewable Energy Strategy, the country aims at building 4 GW of renewable generating capacity by 2030, accounting for 18% of electricity supply, and to reduce GHG emissions by 25%, in part through carbon capture. #GEVernova is proud to support the nation’s decarbonization efforts. This includes an MoU we signed with QatarEnergy in 2022 to develop a carbon capture roadmap for the energy sector. As well, our gas turbines are providing lower-carbon power to key national industrial champions, including Qatalum’s aluminum smelter and QatarEnergy LNG liquefaction plant. GE Vernova grid software and hardware support the country’s strong, reliable power sector operated by Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa). GE Vernova, in collaboration with Junior Achievement Côte d’Ivoire (CIV), recently hosted the 2nd edition of the Girls in #STEM event in CIV, spotlighting "Les Femmes au Coeur de la Transition Energetique" (Women at the Center of the #EnergyTransition). 50 bright young girls from Lycée Jeunes Filles de Yopougon and Lycée Municipal de Koumassi 1 were empowered to explore the pivotal role women play in sustainable energy solutions through interactive workshops, inspiring panel discussions, and an exciting hackathon.    These future scientists and engineers gained valuable insights into the energy sector and witnessed innovation in action during 2 visits to the Ciprel and Azito Power Plants!   We're #GEVernovaProud to support diversity and inclusion, inspiring the next generation to shape the #FutureOfEnergy. GE Vernova has been a proud contributor to Bahrain's energy needs from the early days, as our company's history in the Kingdom dates back to 1973. Today, three of our high-efficiency H-class gas turbines are providing lower-carbon power to the world’s largest single-site aluminum smelter at Aluminium Bahrain. As well, our grid management software is contributing to increasing efficiency and ensuring power availability across the Kingdom’s transmission and distribution networks. In 2023, #Bahrain announced ambitious targets as part of its National Energy Strategy, including a 30% reduction in emissions by 2035 and net-zero emissions by 2060.
