Students from our Automotive and Mechanical Engineering programmes, all members of HW Racing – our Formula Student team – stepped into the world of Formula 1 at Yas Marina Circuit - The Meeting Place of Champions ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Thanks to Yas in Schools Presented by ADNOC, the students toured the paddocks, visited team garages, and interacted with F1 legends like Kevin Magnussen, Nico Hülkenberg, Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, and Franco Colapinto. A standout moment of the day was their meeting with Heriot-Watt University alumnus Jock Clear, a senior performance engineer at Scuderia Ferrari, whose journey showcased the exciting opportunities awaiting our graduates in motorsport.
