We have officially launched the TUI Futureshapers Albania Programme, a collaboration between the TUI Care Foundation and GIZ Albania. Together, we are joining forces to raise standards and enhance the competitiveness of 200 existing businesses, including guesthouses, agritourism farms, huts, and more, across the following tourist products: • Agritourism tours • TransDinarica cycling route • High Scardus Trail • Shepherds Trail • Në Fshat - the Albanian tourist village model The agreement, signed by the Country Director of GIZ Albania, Dr. Sonja Kurz, and the Executive Director of the TUI Care Foundation, Mr. Alexander Panczuk, paves the way for a transformative partnership focused on sustainable development in Albania’s most remote regions.

The launching of #ALBAdapt programme marks a significant stride towards a sustainable future. We harness the power of accurate climate data to empower vulnerable communities against climate change. The collaborative efforts of the German Government, through GIZ, the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Government of Albania, the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC), and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), is a testament to our commitment to combating climate change. Since mid-October, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment has put the draft of the National Tourism Strategy 📜 up for public consultation. GIZ’s project “In the Village” (N’Fshat) is back, this time in Lekbibaj, Tropojë, where tradition, hospitality, and breathtaking nature come together. 🍃 Our talented students and their mentor spent 10 enriching days collaborating with the local community. Yesterday we were at Green School for an informative session on reducing single-use plastic! 💚 The students asked interesting questions about the impact of plastic on the environment and ways to reduce its use. 🌍 A special moment was the presentation of the PETKO machine, which transforms recycled plastic into filament for use by 3D printers! 🖨️ This innovative process shows how we can repurpose plastic to create new products, contributing to a sustainable cycle. 🌱 It was truly inspiring to see their will to drive change for a sustainable future. ♻️✨
