Our Dementia Research Infoline is here to support you. Whether you have questions about dementia, dementia research or want to volunteer in research studies. You can contact us via phone, email or post.

Our friendly team are on hand to answer questions you might have about dementia and dementia research.

Our Infoline team can help you with:

  • Questions about dementia.
  • Information about symptoms, causes, diagnosis, risk factors and treatments for dementia.
  • The opportunity to take part in dementia research studies.
  • Information about dementia research, such as the research evidence behind media headlines or claims made on the internet.
  • Signposting to organisations that can help with enquiries not covered by the remit of the Dementia Research Infoline.

 

Please note that the Infoline does not offer advice or counselling and we are not medically trained. We cannot offer guidance on dementia care.

Contacting the Dementia Research Infoline should not replace any information provided by your doctor or nurse, or another healthcare or legal professional.

It is not within our remit to assist students with their projects. However, if you are a student and are unable to find the help you need using the information available on our website, please do contact us and we will endeavour to reply to you within five working days.

Call us

You can call us on 0300 111 5111 (9.00-5.00pm Monday to Friday - excluding bank holidays).

Calls are charged at the same rate as 01 or 02 numbers and should be included in any free call packages you have. Charges for mobiles are likely to be higher.

We try to answer calls as quickly as possible, but if the Infoline is busy or you call outside our operating hours, you can leave us a message with your contact details and one of our team will aim to get back to you within three working days.

The Dementia Research Infoline provides free dementia health information, available as free to order booklets and website pages.

All of the health information we produce is accredited by the Patient Information Forum Tick.

This ensures our health information is as useful and relevant as possible to people living with dementia, their friends, family and carers, and for people who want to know more.

We involve people in our information production and update process. We also follow guidelines to make sure our information is written in plain English, our evidence base is reliable and up to date, and that people can easily share their feedback and thoughts with us so we can keep improving.
