Civic and Social Organizations
At Birthright Armenia we sponsor young diasporan adults, 21-32 years old, for a life-changing volunteer experience.
About us
Birthright Armenia, also known as Depi Hayk, was established in 2003 by Edele Hovnanian, as an international nonprofit organization. The mission of Birthright Armenia is to strengthen ties between the homeland and Diasporan youth by affording them an opportunity to be a part of Armenia’s daily life and to contribute to Armenia’s development through volunteer experience, while developing life-long personal ties and a renewed sense of Armenian identity. Birthright Armenia's year-round program provides young Armenian Diasporans, 21-32 years old, with travel fellowships, host family living arrangements, unique excursions, language classes, forums, and much more in exchange for volunteer/internship service. Birthright Armenia has partnered with dozens of existing internship organizations and study abroad programs to give participants a unique and personal immersion experience in Armenia. These organizations and programs plan each volunteers' job site or community service placement while Birthright Armenia does the rest. Through its complementary services and financial incentives, Birthright Armenia offers each and every participant the means and opportunity to experience Armenia like never before.

We asked our volunteers a tough question: Would they still pick Gyumri or Vanadzor over Yerevan? 👀 Their answers might surprise you! Don't forget to comment if you agree with them or not? ✨ P.S. Want to experience it yourself? 📥 Slide into our DMs, and we’ll help you plan your stay to either of these amazing cities!

Beaina fell in love with the city of Yerevan, from the culture to the art, she was so excited to live and work in the heart of the country. 🇦🇲 When she stepped out of Yerevan and experienced the more rural countryside, Beaiana felt that her definition of Armenia was only being enhanced and allowed her to form a deeper connection to her Armenian identity. ✨ Do you have a specific understanding of Armenia and an expectation of it? Maybe volunteering at Birthright Armenia would completely change your perspective for the better. 🔗 Find out more about their story in her recent article: https://lnkd.in/dpiaFX9D #birthrightarmenia #volunteering #armenia #armeniandiaspora
