Murdoch Mysteries

Andrew Gower appeared as a man who believes to be Sherlock Holmes in two episodes of Murdoch Mysteries, a Canadian television drama series that aired on both City and CBC Television (titled The Artful Detective on the Ovation cable TV network).

The series is centered around William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), a police detective working in Toronto, Ontario, around the turn of the twentieth century. His approach to crime solving is a more modern, more scientific one, introducing such concepts as fingerprints and lie detectors. His team consists of pathologist and psychologist Dr Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy) and Constable George Crabtree (Jonny Harris). Inspector Brackenreid (Thomas Craig) is often doubtful of Murdoch’s unusual methods but generally supports the detective.

Murdoch Mysteries is based on characters from the novel series by Maureen Jennings, and both of Andrew’s episodes were filmed in Toronto (Canada).
