The Asia Natural Gas and Energy Association (ANGEA) was formed in 2021 with a simple purpose

To work constructively with governments, society and industry throughout Asia, to build effective and integrated energy policies that meet each country’s climate objectives while promoting national and regional sustainable economic growth.

This includes the ability of nations to access natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuels that provide energy security and which will support Asia’s transition away from the high-emitting coal that remains the region’s dominant source of power generation.

Headquartered in Singapore, ANGEA is the voice of the gas industry in Asia and unique regionally because its membership  spans the full global gas value chain: from production, to transport, infrastructure, manufacturing, end users, and others.

Our governance

ANGEA’s Board provides the foundation for our activities and is comprised of senior representatives from member companies.

Each board member brings deep and diverse experience, strong knowledge of Asia’s energy landscape and impeccable character to guide ANGEA’s well-rounded and strategic policy approach.

Our climate focus

With energy demand in Asia expected to grow significantly to 2050, there is a clear need for tailored energy solutions that support both economic growth and progress on decarbonisation targets.

This includes natural gas replacing coal as a source of reliable and lower-carbon baseload power that can support investments in renewable energy, and the development of alternative fuels and technologies that support reductions in emissions.

ANGEA and its member companies are committed to supporting countries across Asia on their unique energy transition journeys.

Our logo

ANGEA’s logo features a stylised gas flame, representing the association’s individual members. When combined the individual segments form a vibrant, radiating shape that represent unity, partnership and growth – reflecting our approach to working with key stakeholders in Asia.

The logo also resembles a lotus which signals the energy transition from higher carbon to cleaner, low-carbon energy sources.
