Story #8 – Kenney takes power in Alberta election

One of the staunchest voices for Canadian conservatism heading into 2020 is Alberta Premier Jason Kenney. For some, it may be easy to forget that he started the year out as the opposition in Alberta. The top issues for voters were economic, and the sense that Kenney would be preferable to incumbent Rachel Notley was widespread. Despite near equal favourability between Kenney and Notley, the United Conservative Party coasted to a majority government on election night.
