Scale-true topography of rock and terrain surfaces based on 3D models A precise characterization of the terrain conditions allows for comprehensive survey and monitoring of hazardous areas. The Analyst, 3GSM´s high quality software for rock mass characterisation, generates scale-true contour line plots in respect to user-definable projection planes. One can switch between vertical and horizontal projections by single mouse clicks or the plane of projection can be user-adjusted in terms of inclination and strike direction. In addition, range level and step sizes can be customized as required. Next to the plot, contour lines are visualized as overlay on the 3D viewer and enables the user an immediate overview of the terrain conditions on site.
