Eva Otter, President of PHA Europe, understands the difference #patientassociations can make in helping patients to cope with their disease. Eva states "The biggest challenge for PH patients is the time after their diagnosis. Finding the right doctor, knowing exactly how to organize your life and how to spend your free time: this is where the work of the patient association comes in. Patient associations can help patients and their families to offer a place where you can meet like-minded people, where you can find information and learn more about the disease." Watch her #interview below (German language, with English subtitles). Today, AOP Health had the opportunity to be part of the IV Working Group Research & Technology at the Austrian Parliament (Parlamentsdirektion). #Specialthanks to AOP Health colleagues Carmen Visus, PhD and Johanna Grames for their preparation and effort! It was an inspiring demonstration of Austria's commitment to becoming a global leader in #innovation and #technology. The meeting highlighted Austria’s strategic vision, emphasizing #digitalization, #AI, #datamanagement, #education, and #research-industry collaboration as pivotal elements for driving #growth and #sustainability. With planned initiatives like the Digitalization Strategy and Artificial Intelligence, Austria is advancing its digital infrastructure, fostering trustworthy AI, and addressing critical labor market needs through programs that attract global talent. Here, a few #highlights: Mag. Florian Frauscher MLS, from the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy (BMAW), provided a compelling outline of Austria's framework for research, technology, and innovation (RTI). His presentation reinforced Austria’s ambition to strengthen its business environment, advance key technologies, and foster international collaboration. He also emphasized the importance of supporting start-ups, promoting equal opportunities in research, and creating an ecosystem where innovation thrives, positioning Austria as a leading hub for technological and economic resilience. Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. Christian Ramsauer from Graz University of Technology brought forward tangible examples of R&D collaboration through initiatives which seamlessly bridge academia and industry. His approach demonstrated how innovation ecosystems can foster impactful solutions while equipping the next generation with practical and entrepreneurial skills. The discussions collectively underscored a unified vision for advancing Austria's innovation landscape, driven by collaboration, inclusivity, and sustainability. #aophealth #needssciencetrust #innovation #collaboration #sustainability

🌍 6,300 participants from 120 countries gathered today in Barcelona for #ISPOREurope, showcasing the wide reach and diversity of our global scientific community. Do you know the most common #symptoms of #PulmonaryHypertension? People with PH can experience shortness of breath, dizziness, fatigue, chest pain, heart palpitations, lips and fingers turning blue, and edema (swelling). In the early stages of PH, an affected person may not notice any symptoms at all. Only as the disease progresses, do they start to experience symptoms that can be mistaken for other diseases.💙Swipe left! November is #PulmonaryHypertensionAwareness Month! Listen here to expert Univ. Doz. Dr. Nika Skoro-Sajer explain the burdens and perspectives for #PH patients. PH, or Pulmonary Hypertension, is a #chronic disease where the blood pressure in the arteries that carry blood from the heart to the lungs is too high. This extra pressure makes it harder for the heart to pump blood, which can lead to progressive heart and lung damage if left untreated. PH is twice as common in #women compared to men, and can affect people of all ages, races and ethnic backgrounds. There is no cure for PH, however new research is being conducted with the potential to improve the outlook for people living with PH, so that #earlydiagnosis and treament can help PH patients live longer.
