AXIS Flight Simulation’s 2024 is wrapped up! As we step in 2025, we’re taking a look back at our achievements over the past 12 months. Here’s a rundown of our highlights:
We started off 2024 by announcing our partnership with the INCAS - National Institute for Aerospace Research "Elie Carafoli" to supply a Beechcraft King Air C90GTx Level-D full flight simulator (FFS) designed for special purpose and turboprop aircraft, and equipped with a state-of-the-art XT6 visual system from RSi to ensure a highly immersive experience.
In April, we celebrated the unveiling of AX-D Flex, the first front-loading roll-on/roll-off solution, enabling pilots to train on multiple aircraft configurations within one mothership. Designed to reduce downtime and maximise efficiency, AX-D Flex allows training providers to minimise costs and provide a greater degree of flexibility to pilots.
May saw the qualification of Head-Up-Display (HUD) and Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS) for Europe’s first Bombardier Challenger CL650 Level-D FFS, owned by Rega Swiss Air Rescue and operated by Lufthansa Aviation Training Group, helping to improve visibility, situational awareness and operational safety while inflight.
In June, we successfully qualified AXIS IRIS avionics rehost for the ATR 72-600 FFS owned by Aviation Academy Austria and upgraded the simulator visual system. We updated the FFS’s RSi visual software from XT5 to XT6 and upgraded the projectors to the latest Norxe P10 system.
In July, we celebrated 20 years of AXIS Flight Simulation. The team gathered at our head-office to reflect on the achievements we have made over the last 20 years.
In August, we celebrated the qualification of the Level-D Bombardier Challenger CL350 FFS for Aviation Academy Austria, marking our first Level-D CL350 FFS and the first of its kind to operate in mainland Europe.
In October, we announced our partnership with software development studio PROPAIR Flight, demonstrating our commitment to putting cutting-edge virtual and mixed reality (VR/MR) technologies at the forefront of our products.
Finally, at EATS 2024 we launched our Virtual Cockpit Procedure and Walkaround Trainer (VPT), a cutting-edge training solution powered by VR technology. The VPT headset uses state-of-the-art hand and eye tracking capabilities to offer a high level of immersion for tasks such as system familiarisation, ground operations, flight procedures and emergency scenarios.
So, there’s our year in review! Thank you to the entire AXIS Flight Simulation team for making it such a success. Bring on 2025!
