The DeepSupport project has officially come to an end, marking a significant milestone in fostering a deeptech innovation support network. Through our collective efforts, we bridged gaps in interregional collaboration for Photonics in manufacturing, laying the groundwork for impactful advancements. By engaging regional stakeholders and co-developing a supra-regional strategy, the project has established best practices to strengthen European competitiveness and support key EU missions. A heartfelt thank you to all the partners and stakeholders who made this journey possible. The outcomes of DeepSupport will continue to inspire innovation and collaboration across Europe. 🌟 Exciting Milestone: Deepsupport Project in the Final Stretch! 🌟 In January 2024, I had the privilege of joining forces with a remarkable group of international project partners to work on the #Deepsupport Project. My focus has been on crafting a Collaborative #Talent Development and #Recruiting #Strategy—an area I’m deeply passionate about.   As we approach the finish line of this transformative initiative, I’d like to spotlight the fascinating field of #Photonics - a cornerstone of the project.   What is the Deepsupport Project? This ambitious initiative, running from January to December 2024, connects six forward-thinking organizations across five countries: #Austria, #Finland, #Hungary, #Italy, and #Slovenia. Under the coordination of JOANNEUM RESEARCH, and with the collaboration of esteemed partners like Bay Zoltán Kutatóközpont, Fraunhofer Italia - IEC, RRA Podravje - Maribor, Steirische Wirtschaftsförderung SFG, and Photonics Finland we’re building an interregional Deeptech innovation network.   Why Photonics Matters: Photonics, the #science and technology of light, is at the heart of cutting-edge #manufacturing #innovations. By leveraging its potential, the project aims to enhance regional competitiveness, laying the foundation for an innovation valley where brilliant ideas and industries thrive.   What We’ve Achieved: Through workshops, focus groups, peer learning sessions, and networking events, Deepsupport explored the regional potential of Deeptech and Photonics, aligning them with local economies. The results? A robust roadmap for empowering companies to embrace these advanced technologies, backed by a joint, yet locally transferable strategy. 🌟 DEEPSUPPORT Final Event Highlights in Budapest! 🌟 On November 4-5, Bay Zoltán Kutatóközpont organized the final DEEPSUPPORT event in Budapest, bringing together all project partners. The program was filled with project updates, workshops, presentations of the awarded innovations of our Idea challenge call, and energizing discussions. 💡 Highlights included presentations from our Work Package leaders, who shared key project results, best practices, and new development opportunities. We also explored Hungary's innovation ecosystem with an insightful talk by Mr. Zoltán Gyarmati from ELI ALPS Research Institute. ✨ Congratulations to our Idea Challenge winners: Christoph Stockinger (University of Graz), Hossameldin Elsayed (Tampere University), Samuel M. Hörmann (Technische Universität Graz & ams OSRAM), Alex Berdin (Tampere University), and Marta Kisielewska (Silicon Austria Labs (SAL)). Their innovative solutions sparked new ideas for the future of photonics! The event wrapped up with a workshop on integrating photonics into various industries and strategies for building regional photonics networks. In the framework of the Deepsupport partnership, the partners collected and compiled information about the infrastructures available in all the regions involved in Austria 🇦🇹 , Finland 🇫🇮 , Slovenia 🇸🇮 , Hungary 🇭🇺 and Italy 🇮🇹 . The objective of this work is to promote the available #technology structures of the regions and to make the equipment more accessible for other organisations to use. The platform shows which #infrastructure is available to whom (#SMEs, #startup, #RTO…)  During the delegation visit organised by Photonics Finland, the participants discovered that VTT Research center was giving access to a part of their clean room facilities (Micronova) to companies, which lead to successful collaboration and fast development of Dispelix #innovation. This platform will allow other companies to access similar services in their regions and drive forwards their innovation.
