🌟 Meet David Salzgeber: EcoNetix Founder and Innovator 🌍 We're thrilled to introduce David Salzgeber, one of the visionaries behind EcoNetix and a driving force in our digital innovation in the carbon market! David is an entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience. He's the founder of several successful companies, including Salzgeber IT Revolutions, which specializes in IT security for critical infrastructure. His career has been defined by pioneering solutions, from developing software for the European trade fair industry to creating @mydataplanet, a SaaS platform that is transforming data analysis for ESG, Smart Cities, and Carbon Credits! In 2021, David's journey brought him to Uganda, where he introduced an Austrian bodycam project and met our co-founder, Jakob Zenz - what an amazing and exciting turn of events! This meeting led to a shared vision, and in 2023, David joined forces with Jakob and later on with Paul Nimmerfall. Salzgeber Ventures now actively contributes to the development of EcoNetix's dMRV (digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) solution, setting a new standard in the industry. David Salzgeber's commitment to impactful solutions and his entrepreneurial spirit are central to EcoNetix's mission: to create lasting, data-driven sustainability solutions that will make a real difference! When he's not at work, David loves to play paddleball and go skiing. He's also passionate about supporting young athletes, helping them to grow and succeed both on and off the field. Do you already know the founding story of EcoNetix? Here is our founder Jakob's take on it. From 2019 to 2022, our founder, Jakob Zenz, lived in #Uganda, where he established a company in the agri-processing sector. Working with over 2,000 smallholder farmers, he witnessed the devastating impacts of climate change firsthand. His work extended to some of the most challenging areas in #Africa, including South Sudan, Eastern Congo, and East Africa. Throughout this journey, Jakob’s mission was clear: to create a lasting, sustainable shift in how these regions are perceived and supported. Upon returning to Austria, Africa remained at the forefront of his mind. Inspired by his experiences, he founded EcoNetix with a vision to support African communities while combating climate change. Identifying a significant opportunity in carbon credits and the carbon market, he saw a powerful tool to channel sustainable investments from the Global North to the Global South. "EcoNetix is my mission to connect the Global North and the Global South and demonstrate that sustainable change comes from creating market mechanisms that deliver financial returns. Carbon credits exemplify how a viable business model can drive direct and immediate climate action in the regions that need it most. Africa represents the future, and the climate crisis is the greatest immediate threat of our generation.
