Season's Greetings from FIBEP President Todd Murphy I Truescope Dear FIBEP Members, As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to send warm greetings to all of you, especially our newest members. This email isn’t about business—it’s about celebrating the friendships and strong connections we share as part of the global media monitoring community. Below, I’ve included a special story I prepared—a festive twist on a classic Christmas tale. I hope it brings some holiday cheer to your day. On behalf of the FIBEP Board of Directors, I wish you a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year! Warm regards, Todd Murphy FIBEP President 'Twas the Night Before Congress (A FIBEP Parody: If the WMIC was December 25th) 'Twas the night before Congress, when all through the hall, The delegates waited for Todd’s jolly call. The banners were hung by the main stage with care, In hopes that great insights soon would be shared. The members were eager, their excitement so clear, While Todd prepped his mic, his big moment was near. With a wink and a grin, he rallied his team, To make this the best Congress yet—what a dream! When up on the rooftop arose such a sound, Magdalena looked up, her ideas profound. She waved to Carlos, who joined with a cheer, While Oresti said, “This will be our year!” Steffen cracked jokes, his laughter so merry, While Katerina planned, her clipboard to carry. Romina shared stories of MIBE galore, And Natan chimed in with sessions to explore. Then Christophe arrived with copyrights grand, Holding his notes in a firm, guiding hand. Todd called them together, his reindeer elite, “Let’s make this a Congress no one can beat!” "Now Magdalena! Now Carlos! Now Oresti and Steffen! On Katerina! On Romina! On Natan and Christophe! To the top of the stage, to the spotlight we go, We’ll guide this whole Congress and put on a show!" They dashed through the venue, their passion in flight, Lighting up every corner with knowledge and might. The crowd was inspired by the plans they unveiled, As the Congress began, not a soul had derailed. And just as the night reached its dazzling close, Two special guests appeared—oh, what a pose! Zuzana and Viky, with hearts full of cheer, Waved to the crowd as they shouted, “Next year!” With love and ambition, the Congress was done, And they all flew away, ready for more fun. But I heard Todd exclaim, as he drove out of sight, “Happy Congress to all, and to all a good night!”

We feel incredibly fortunate to connect with experts like Christophe Dickès, our very own FIBEP Copyright Wizard!
🎂 Ten years! I've been attending the FIBEP WMIC for over ten years now, and I've come a long way since then 🙏 I'm still thinking of Walter Patanella, who literally put me in orbit and pushed me to give a truly international dimension to my job. 💡 The FIBEP WMIC is always an opportunity to exchange ideas and gain a better understanding of what's at stake in our media monitoring and analysis industry. It's also an opportunity to catch up with dear friends. Last week, the congress in Limassol (Cyprus) once again lived up to all its promises. Ten years ago, there was no talk of Artificial Intelligence, but this year, almost all the presentations concerned this new way which is only starting to create a revolution in our industry. 🅰️ ℹ️ AI and respect for authors and publishers 📰 📺 📻 are intimately linked. We saw this again recently with the announcement of the WSJ and NYT vs Perplexity, NYT vs Open AI, etc. The question is, what's going to happen in our industry? 📢 During a panel discussion with Bruce Davidson Guillaume CRISAFULLI Humza Chaudhry and George Andrew Zannos I was lucky enough to lead in Cyprus, I remember one key word: "transparency". It's inseparable from the journalistic value that it's up to us to preserve. Media monitoring companies have long respected copyright in many countries. So there's no reason why they shouldn't do the same tomorrow with AI. They also have unrivalled experience and have principles such as fair remuneration for rights holders and fair market. Taking into account the economic reality of a market, its possibilities but also its limits, is also essential. 🤔 That said, many questions remain: what kind of licenses would be required? What obligations would ensue? Should a media monitoring company pay for each product used, or simply for copying content that doesn't belong to them? How can we reconcile the old licenses, some of which date from another age, with new framework? Katerina Kechagia's survey of FIBEP members amply reveals this: these are just some of the questions that make the issue of copyright an essential and decisive one for the future. He discussed how this transformative era is reshaping media intelligence, enhancing data analysis, personalization, and decision-making. Constantinos also addressed the pressing challenges of cybersecurity that accompany these advancements. 🚀 Following that, we had an engaging panel on the State of the PR-Media Relationship, featuring Iskren Lilov of Ruepoint, Amrita Sidhu of Medianet - Media Intelligence Made Smarter, Carlos Alfredo Diaz of GlobalNews Group and Oresti Patricios of Ornico. This session was built around an industry-first global survey, a collaboration among competitors, and the panelists dove into the evolving dynamics between PR professionals and journalists across continents. 🌍 We are excited to see how these discussions will shape our industry moving forward! #AI #MediaIntelligence #PR #Journalism #Collaboration #FIBEP2024

Philip Allin of Overtone talked to Matt Oakley from Hotwire and Dimitris Ioannides from Purpose Marketing Communications about the value of AI in the PR industry, how it accelerates internal processes and enables us to deliver faster and more efficient service to the clients. ⚙️✨ The trio also tackled the nuances between AI and generative AI, emphasizing the importance of clear communication with clients as these concepts evolve. 💡 It’s an exciting time for PR, and today’s discussion highlighted how we can effectively adapt to these changes! 💪 #FIBEP2024 #WMIC24 #MediaIntelligence #AI #PR
