A Strong Partnership for the Future of Autonomous Work Vehicles We are proud to spotlight our long-standing partnership with Robot Makers GmbH, a leader in robotics and automation software. Together, we are providing an autonomous work vehicle platform that combines HAWE Mattro’s vehicle expertise with Robot Makers’ advanced automation capabilities, tailored for a range of applications in agriculture, construction, and beyond.   At the core of this collaboration is our fully electric ROVO tracked platform, which we designed to be a rugged, configurable, high-power vehicle. Our customers and partners are fitting various attachments and devices to the ROVO, in order to fulfill the requirements of the end customer with short time-to-market. One of the available options is a hydraulic kit, that includes pump, tank and control valves to power hydraulic working functions, e.g. for autonomous mowing.   Robot Makers contributes its MowPilot Autonomy Kit, which provides the intelligence behind the automation. Their advanced sensor systems and control software scan the terrain, enabling the ROVO to autonomously navigate complex routes and manage attachments in real-time. RoboAlm: Automating Alpine Conservation with the ROVO In the innovative RoboAlm research project led by Technische Universität Graz, our fully electric ROVO plays a key role in managing invasive plant species on Austria’s steep alpine pastures. These rugged slopes make traditional methods challenging, so RoboAlm employs advanced technology to tackle this problem effectively. The ROVO, powered by our durable battery system, can operate for up to 8 hours on challenging terrain. With navigation supported by high-resolution satellite and drone imagery, the ROVO uses laser scanners and 3D cameras to identify obstacles and plan safe routes. pentamap GmbH has developed specialized mapping software for safe and effective route optimization, while micromacro GmbH contributes expertise in plant detection to accurately identify invasive species. Additionally, insights from wildlife ecologists ensure that the ROVO operates without disturbing local fauna, protecting animals and insects through thoughtful avoidance measures.
