#EASA’s European Plan for Aviation Safety is out now!   The 2025 edition of #EPAS provides an updated roadmap for aviation #safety and #environmentalprotection in Europe, addressing safety risks and setting strategic priorities for the Agency. It introduces new actions, updates safety risk assessments, and refines rulemaking plans to enhance safety management across the EASA Member States.   Key points include: ➡️ Safety Risk Updates: EPAS identifies 211 safety issues, including 20 high-risk ones, reassessed with industry and national partners. ➡️New Rulemaking Actions: EPAS adds six new tasks and refines 150 actions, focusing on regulatory improvements and resource optimisation. ➡️Future Planning: EASA will review priorities in 2025 to shape the next EPAS edition (2026-2028).   Check out our plan here: https://lnkd.in/eYCeguBN

I’m thrilled to announce the long-awaited release of The World Bank’s Playbook for Enabling Civilian Drone Operations — a publication showcasing how robust data and geospatial analytics can transform policymaking and foster sustainable development through drone technology in the global development sector. This journey began with the African Drone Forum events in 2018 to 2020, and I want to recognize the incredible work of my co-authors Edward Anderson, Catalina Ochoa, Gregor Engelmann, David Guerin, Denise Soesilo, Tautvydas Juskauskas, Aymen O. Our report highlights the power of evidence-based approaches to guide strategic investments, enhance collaboration among diverse stakeholders, and ultimately improve lives worldwide. By identifying high-impact sectors and advancing local capacity and technology adoption, the playbook provides a clear roadmap for policymakers, practitioners, and partners looking to accelerate inclusive growth. 📢 KICKING OFF THE YEAR WITH A NEW #EUROCAE PUBLICATION: #ED325 Vol. I   📄 This document presents a proposal of Means of Compliance to the EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency Special Condition for Light Unmanned Aircraft Systems - Medium Risk. Medium risk refers to Specific Operations Risk Assessment (#SORA) Specific Assurance and Integrity Level (#SAIL) III and IV. Volume 1 is applicable to a number of selected requirements in Subparts B, C, D, E and H of the L-UAS MOC. Over the past few years, we've realized that many special unit missions can be greatly enhanced with drones. Our extensive testing with previous DJI products highlighted the capabilities, and with the arrival of the Neo, it became clear that this is a cost-effective and highly scalable solution. Working alongside Hexagon Holster and Unilight RC Light Systems, we've developed a practical set that is not only versatile but also perfect for indoor inspections. Excited to see where this technology will take us next! 🚀

Good news, SORA 2.5 is finally complete! Almost unnoticed during the holiday season, @JARUS has released Annex H - SORA Safety Services. This Annex has been a long time in the making, and I am truly happy and proud to be able to do this announcement today. Big shoutout to the activity leaders over the years Jarrett Larrow, Sebastian Babiarz, Marcus Johnson with the support of all authority and industry experts in the Annex H Task Force of JARUS WG Safety & Risk Management. Safety Services considered in this version of the Annex include: - Ground Risk Operations Planning Safety Service, to support intrinsic GRC identification and strategic ground risk mitigations, - Air Risk Operational Planning Safety Service, to support ARC identification and strategic mitigation for the operational volume, - Tactical Conflict Detection and Alerting Safety Service, which may be used during flight operations to help operators detect manned aircraft, and may be incorporated as part of TMPR compliance. We are currently in discussion, whether we should extend and add additional services for Annex H for SORA 3.0. Good ideas are always appreciated, please let us know.
