Last week, Velislava Petkova participated in the “Danube Region Business Summit – Stream of Opportunities”, organized by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. The summit served as a critical platform for exploring strategies to unlock the region's economic and energy potential, with discussions on energy transition, regional growth acceleration, and economic stability. Sessions of the Summit focused on Europe’s Green Strategy 2030, circular economy and the importance of innovation across the Danube region. 🌟Yesterday, Velislava Petkova participated in the first-ever #ÖGNI Symposium on Sustainability, held in Hofburg in Vienna. The symposium focused on transforming good intentions into real, measurable impacts. 🤝Recently, a delegation from Termokos, district heating operator in Pristina, had a site visit in Mürzzuschlag. We and our partners from iC and SOLID had a pleasure to welcome the guests and later joined a tour to Austria's largest ground-mounted solar thermal plant. 🏗️ This visit was significant in the collaboration of the partners, particularly in their shared involvement in the innovative BigSolar project in Kosovo. The project, designed to revolutionize Pristina’s energy supply, will feature an impressive 34 MW solar collector field with a 380,000 m³ seasonal storage system, making Pristina one of the most advanced cities in Europe in terms of solar district heating. 🔥 BigSolar Prishtina is part of Kosovo’s shift from coal-based heating to sustainable energy, a transformation essential for reducing pollution and enhancing energy security. The project is a result of the long-standing partnership of CES, iC, SOLID and Termokos, initiated in 2012 to modernize Pristina’s district heating network. SOLID plays a vital role in this effort, providing expertise, ensuring quality control, and supporting the proper implementation of the system. 💡 This collaboration not only contributes to the global fight against climate change but also promotes economic development and sustainability by reducing reliance on fossil fuels, creating jobs in renewable energy, and significantly lowering CO₂ emissions. 🌍 #SustainableEnergy #SolarPower #DistrictHeating #BigSolar #CleanEnergy

Andreas Helbl, Velislava Petkova and Irina Omelianenko took part in the Forum “Ukraine Business Opportunities”, held in Vienna on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Andreas Helbl represented CES and iC Ukraine at the final Forum`s panel ”Ukrainian Market: Challenges and Changes for Austrian Business – Perspective of Austrian companies active in Ukraine” and shared practical examples of doing business in Ukraine. He emphasized key challenges such as the long project cycles, frequent re-tenders, and the lack of qualified contractors, while also highlighting the immediate need for mobilization and personnel amid the ongoing reconstruction efforts.  Andreas noted the incredible resilience and enthusiasm across all levels in Ukraine, underscoring that reconstruction is happening now, not “after the war.”  The forum was organized by AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA in cooperation with the The World Bank, European Investment Bank (EIB), and EBRD. The event provided a unique opportunity for Austrian businesses to engage in direct discussions and explore Ukraine’s investment potential.

⚙ After complete thermal modernisation, the dormitory sheltered 40 families of internally displaced persons in Chortkiv, Ukraine. Der Österreichische Wasser- und Abfallwirtschaftsverband (ÖWAV) entwickelt in seinen Gremien Regelblätter und Arbeitsbehelfe für die Wasser-, Abwasser- und Abfallwirtschaft sowie den Umweltschutz. Diese werden regelmäßig an den Stand der Technik angepasst. Die Standards dienen als technische Grundlage für Ausbildung, Planung, Genehmigung, Bau, Betrieb, Wartung und Instandhaltung. Wir freuen uns, dass unser Head of Plant Engineering Leopold Kaindl bei der Erstellung des ÖWAV-Regelblatts 30 – Sicherheitsrichtlinien für den Bau und Betrieb von Faulgasbehältern auf Abwasserreinigungsanlagen – mitwirken konnte. 🙌 CES clean energy solutions continues to support Ukraine by contributing to the recovery and resilience of Ukrainian communities. Along with iC Ukraine, we provide consulting services to the PIU of the city for the hospital reconstruction in Nemishaieve. 🚧🏥 The work on both outpatient and inpatient units is currently in progress. To ensure an uninterrupted power supply for consumers, the hospital will be equipped with a 10-kW rooftop solar station. The Nemishaieve hospital reconstruction is part of the Nefco managed 'Housing for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Reconstruction of Liberated Cities in Ukraine, Component II,' funded by the European Union.
