The IMZ, alongside 60 organisations from the music and cultural sector, has signed the European Music Council's letter to Commissioner Micallef, highlighting key priorities for the European music ecosystem. We call for continued support of Music Moves Europe, increased cultural funding, and the formation of an expert group to address pressing issues such as diversity, fair working conditions, sustainability, and mobility. Together, we aim to ensure a thriving and inclusive future for music in Europe and beyond.

Continuing our longstanding tradition of showcasing extraordinary productions through our annual Avant Première motif, we are excited to unveil Der Freischütz from the Bregenzer Festspiele as the 2025 Sujet, presented by Unitel GmbH & Co.KG, ORF , NHK and ZDF. 🐉   Carl Maria von Weber's Der Freischütz epitomises German Romantic opera, captivating audiences with its fantastical worlds since its premiere. Over 200 years later, director and set designer Philipp Stölzl transformed the iconic Seebühne Bregenz into a mystical winter landscape for this stage production, with music performed by the Wiener Symphoniker under the masterful baton of Enrique Mazzola. #AP25

IMZ Academy Workshop ‘Live Multi-Camera Directing of Dance Performances’ – Registration now open! The five-day course, tailored to directors, filmmakers, and production teams, offers a rare chance to master essential skills in visualising, scripting, and directing ballet and contemporary dance with both multi-camera and single-camera setups, supported by expert critique.   Guided by renowned experts in the field—Peter Maniura, Myriam Hoyer, Thomas Freundlich, and Valtteri Raekallio—participants will gain hands-on experience filming at Tanssin Talo (Dance House) in Helsinki.
