When Interventional Systems designed Micromate, the focus was not only on the clinical challenges and how to improve outcomes, but also to provide a better, more embedded and ergonomic user experience to physicians. Looking back on a very successful kickoff meeting of the SHERPA project! A 13.6M euro Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) grant has been awarded to the 4-year project to innovate minimally invasive treatments in neurology and oncology. SHERPA will empower Interventional Radiologists (IR) by providing AI-powered assistive technologies as a seamless and trusted companion across workflows. By automating repetitive tasks and minimizing errors, SHERPA will enhance clinical accuracy, improve patient outcomes, and alleviate the burden on IRs, while extending its human-centric approach to other medical specialties. The kickoff meeting on 29+30 January 2025 at Philips in Best showed great potential for impactful results across the different innovation areas.
