At Kwizda Agro’s event lsat week, Georg and Peter witnessed a creative cinema presentation of a new solution that puts these priorities into action. KX, an innovative platform for digital control and optimization of farming processes, was showcased—kudos to Ronald Hamedl, CEO of Kwizda, Andreas Reischütz and Mark Winkler! 🌳 𝗪𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴! 🌳 Protecting coppiced regrowth from deer browsing is a major challenge, but a recent trial at Westonbirt Arboretum, documented by Brian Williamson, has shown how TRICO® can make a difference. Here’s what he discovered: 1️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: TRICO®-treated fencing setups had virtually zero deer damage compared to notable incursions in untreated areas. 2️⃣ 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Treated coups produced healthier coppice rods, while untreated setups showed signs of browsing damage, impacting rod quality. 3️⃣ 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: The single-row fencing with TRICO®-soaked tape eliminated the need for double-row setups, reducing materials and labour costs. 4️⃣ 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀: The trial included multiple configurations: • A double-row fence (untreated) that allowed minor browsing. • Single-row fencing with untreated tape, which saw consistent deer incursions. • TRICO®-treated tape setups significantly outperformed both. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of TRICO® as an adaptable, cost-effective solution for protecting coppiced woodlands. The PCO team at Kwizda Agro had the opportunity to welcome many visitors to our booth and was pleased with the strong interest in our Gipfelsturm presentation "𝗣𝗙𝗣-𝗗𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 – nagetiersichere Barrieren zur Gebäudeabdichtung" ("PFP sealants by RATDOWN – rodent-proof barriers for building protection").
