💼 Two open PhD positions at the World Trade Institute The University of Bern has two open PhD positions in political science on the project “The design of trade agreements and global supply chains: A large language model approach and its application”, co-led by Prof Dr Andreas Dür of our Department of Political Science, Paris Lodron University Salzburg. The candidate should hold a master’s degree in political science, computational social sciences, economics, or a related discipline, and will apply computational text analysis to code the contents and design of preferential trade agreements. 🎙️ Meet the Editors: The Craft of Publishing in International Relations Journals Whether it is your dream to be published in a scientific journal or are just intrigued by the publishing world, join Benjamin de Carvalho, editor-in-chief of Cooperation and Conflict, and Halvard Leira, associate editor of the European Journal of International Relations and The Hague Journal of Diplomacy, for a candid seminar on publishing research in leading International Relations (IR) journals. The session will begin with an overview of the publishing landscape in IR, including a review of prominent journals in the field. The speakers will then delve into the editorial processes at their respective journals and share practical advice on effective publication strategies. The seminar will conclude with a Q&A session, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with the editors and seek guidance tailored to their research and publication goals. The event takes place this Thursday 23 January from 11:00 to 13:00 in room 115AB of the political science faculty.
