👏 New Projekt succesfully commissioned 👏 . . . . The C-MEM ultrafiltration plant in Zell am Ziller (Rohrberg) has been successfully commissioned and treats up to 5 litres/sec of drinking water. The plant serves as a turbidity removal stage before a downstream arsenic removal and UV plant. We would like to thank our partners Aqua System, ME Water Solution and VERBUND for the good cooperation. Simon Jabornig

🌍 Clean water for the world – worldwide municipal wastewater treatment at the highest level, read more: 🌍 . . . . Around 80% of global municipal wastewater remains untreated, leading to water pollution from nutrients and contaminants. Stricter regulations for phosphorus, nitrogen, and micropollutants, alongside challenges like limited space, high energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions, exacerbate the issue. SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH offers innovative solutions for wastewater treatment with technologies such as C-TECH™, C-MEM™ MBR, MBBR™, and C-ION™. These systems are compact, highly efficient, and sustainable, effectively removing nutrients (e.g., Total N < 10 mg/l, Total P < 0.3 mg/l), pharmaceutical residues, microplastics, and resistant pathogens. The solutions reduce operating costs, sludge generation, and chemical use, promoting sustainable water reuse. SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd. Satya Narayana Y V V Simon Jabornig

🌊 🌍 Clean water for the world – Efficient removal of pathogens by C-MEM™ technology READ MORE: 🌍 🌊 . . . . A study from Norway shows that microplastics in wastewater protect pathogens like viruses and bacteria, allowing them to pass through treatment plants unharmed. These microorganisms attach to a thin layer of slime, known as biofilm, that forms on plastic particles. This biofilm shields pathogens, including noroviruses, E. coli, and Listeria, preventing their removal in treatment facilities. The research suggests that microplastics act as reservoirs for pathogens, posing a challenge to safe wastewater treatment. However, with SFC Umwelttechnik’s cutting-edge C-MEM ultrafiltration technology, this issue can be efficiently addressed by reliably removing even the smallest particles and pathogens from wastewater. 💧 🌏Clean water for the world - Small Water and Wastewater Systems 🌏💧 . . . I’m excited to join the 17th IWA Conference on Small Water and Wastewater Systems (SWWS) and 9th IWA Conference on Resource Oriented Sanitation (ROS) as a speaker. The conference will take place in Curitiba, Brazil from 10 – 14 November 2024. On November 11, 2024, I’ll have the opportunity to discuss water and wastewater in small municipalities and rural areas: challenges and sustainable solutions. At a time when responsible water resource management is gaining increasing importance, decentralized systems offer innovative approaches to treat and reuse wastewater efficiently and in an environmentally friendly way. These solutions are a sustainable alternative to centralized infrastructures, especially in rural and remote areas, and make a valuable contribution to the circular economy. Through technology and collaboration, we can drive forward a resource-efficient water management approach. I am convinced that, through collective efforts, we can create a more sustainable future. Did you know that up to 30% additional heat can be obtained with a flue gas condensation system in biomass power plants? 💡 . . . . In biomass power plants, biomass like wood waste is used to generate heat and electricity, but its high water content requires significant energy for combustion. The resulting flue gas contains a lot of water vapor, which can be condensed to recover heat, but the condensate is heavily polluted with organic substances, nitrogen, and heavy metals. Disposing of this contaminated condensate is expensive and sometimes even prohibited, while space limitations in the plants further complicate the issue. SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH offers a solution with a combination of MBBR™ (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) and C-MEM™ (Ultrafiltration) to clean the condensate efficiently. Their compact and sustainable technologies allow for water reuse or safe discharge, improving plant efficiency and protecting the environment. NEW Project in Austria / Zell am Ziller 👏 . . . . Many sources and rivers show increased turbidity and contamination after heavy rainfall, making them unsuitable for direct drinking water use. UV disinfection systems are ineffective in turbid water (> 1 NTU) without ultrafiltration. Sediment build up in storage tanks worsens the issue, while limited space often complicates system installation. SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH offers space-saving water treatment solutions using technologies like C-MEM™ ultrafiltration, which reduces turbidity to below 0.2 NTU and reliably removes bacteria. These systems are efficient, cost-effective, and ideal as a pre-treatment for UV disinfection systems. SFC Umwelttechnik was recently awarded to supply the C-MEM UF filtration systems for 5 l/sec for the Zell am Ziller project. Implementation is already planned for autumn 2024. We look forward to working with Aqua System Technologie GmbH and VERBUND.
