INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT SOY DRINK! A study's objective was to compare the nutritional composition of cow milk and several plant-based drinks with a focus on protein quantity, protein quality and greenhouse gas emission. 399 products of plant-based drinks and cow milk from 6 European countries were analyzed. -) Soy drink had the best protein quality to carbon footprint ratio and cow milk came second -) Protein quantity and quality were highest in cow milk -) Only the soy drink reached similar protein amounts as milk Only Soy contains sufficient high-quality protein and is the most sustainable alternative to cow's milk! SUSTAINABILITY & SOY FROM AUSTRIA Soy Austria has committed to purchasing soybeans only grown on fields in Austria and surrounding EU-countries to ensure that the beans are grown in the most sustainable way and have the shortest possible transport. We do not purchase soybeans from huge monocultures abroad, and we only accept non-GMO beans according to the strictest standard of <0,1%. We support local, small-structured Austrian farmers who grow beans by following our Soy Austria® agricultural standards. By local contract farming we additionally contribute to the ongoing development of seeds in Austria so that we can meet the market requirements of the future. After a weather-related interruption mid of September, the soybean harvest has been completed in Austria. In Austria, soy is grown on 87,600 hectares, of which around 30% is organic.
