Packaging of a wide range of bacon products in Austria 🥓 Starting Situation: Located in the heart of Austria, our client is a family-owned business specializing in high-quality sausages and bacon since the 1990s. Now managed by the second generation, they focus on regional products within a niche market, selling a significant portion through their own webshop and exporting across Europe. Challenges: Our client faced the challenge of packaging products that vary greatly in size and weight, coupled with frequent product changes. They needed a highly flexible machine capable of handling different product formats seamlessly. Additionally, during peak times, they required high throughput and superior sealing quality. The preference for shrink bags was critical to optimize both the appearance and shelf life of their finished products. However, their existing packaging system with double chambers, an older belt machine, and a shrink tank was no longer sufficient. Challenges: The customer needed a packaging line that would address every issue, be future-proof, and fit within their budget. Key goals included increasing capacity within the same space, improving product presentation, extending shelf life, reducing operator dependency, and enabling easy future automation. Our Solution: We implemented a cutting-edge system featuring the GK 862 and punching knives for optimal product presentation. Password-protected special settings ensure perfect vacuum packaging every time, regardless of the operator. A split belt allows for future automation.
