The Brick Award is an international established award and presents outstanding brick architecture from all around the world. Every second year, the best architects from around the world present their outstanding projects at the internationally renowned Brick Award. This international competition was launched by wienerberger in 2004 to put brick as a building material center stage. Since then, every two years, the Brick Award has honored modern brick architecture that makes innovative use of clay building materials. >>Discover the winners and nominees of Brick Award 24 are online now! The next submission period for Brick Award 26 will start on November 25, 2024. Submission is free of charge. To enter the competition, a brief informative description of the project is required, as well as plans and images of the building. Entrants must give their consent for the publication of their project at a later date, as the 50 projects nominated for the award will be published in the Brick Book. >> Assessment with focus on creativity, sustainability, form and esthetics. What criteria must a project meet? First and foremost, a design and architectural concept that integrates bricks in an innovative way. The creativity of the project, its shape, the esthetical aspect and also the context of use all play a role here. The jury also considers the relevance of the building in relation to building purpose, type, and cultural aspects. Energy efficiency and sustainability are also taken into account as well as aspekts of affordable living. >> From single-family homes to infrastructure - The 5 categories of the Brick Award - Feeling at home - Living together - Working together - Sharing public spaces - Building outside the box The winners of the Brick Award will be presented at the Award Ceremony and their projects will be published together with the 50 nominated projects in the Brick Book.
