🌍 The Energy Community Secretariat has set new gas storage targets for 2025 to strengthen regional energy security, focusing on Ukraine and Serbia, the only Contracting Parties with underground storage directly linked to their market areas. Serbia will aim for a minimum storage level of 23% by February 1st and 80% by September 1st, while Ukraine’s targets are tailored to its unique market and storage needs. These structured goals are essential to maintaining stability, particularly during winter's peak demand. Additionally, the Secretariat issued its first opinion on Moldova’s Preventive and Emergency Plans, underscoring its commitment to proactive energy security measures across the region. #EnergySecurity #GasStorage #Ukraine #Serbia #Moldova #EnergyCommunity #WinterReadiness #RegionalStability Source: https://lnkd.in/gfhuQvAS

🌱 EU Funding Boosts Cross-Border Green Hydrogen Project in Poland and Germany 🌱 The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency) has granted EUR 190,000 to the Cross Border Pomeranian Green Hydrogen Cluster project. This funding will support feasibility studies for green hydrogen production in Poland’s West Pomeranian region and its integration with Polish and German hydrogen networks. Led by PNE AG and Sevivon, alongside Gaz-System and Gascade, the project aims to connect 1 GW of electrolysers—powered by 2 GW of wind and solar energy—to the European hydrogen grid. This initiative is part of the EU’s CEF Energy program, which supports cross-border renewable projects to accelerate the energy transition. It also aligns with Poland's Hydrogen Map project and cross-border initiatives like the Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor. #GreenHydrogen #EnergyTransition #EUFunding #Renewables #HydrogenEconomy #Poland #Germany #Sustainability Source: https://lnkd.in/d6TiAV_D

🌍 Ukraine Takes Major Step Towards Climate Action with New ETS Framework 🌍 The Ukrainian Parliament has approved the "Law on the Basic Principles of Climate Policy," marking a crucial step in the nation's journey to curb greenhouse gas emissions. This law mandates the creation of a national Emissions Trading System (ETS) as part of Ukraine’s strategy to reduce emissions by 65% by 2030 (compared to 1990 levels). The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources (MEPNR) has also initiated a public consultation for the “Draft Strategy for the Implementation of a GHG ETS in Ukraine until 2033.” This strategy outlines a three-phase approach: 1️⃣ Preparation (2024-2025) – Establishment of the legal framework and infrastructure for ETS. 2️⃣ Pilot Phase (2026-2028) – Testing the system's functionality to ensure readiness. 3️⃣ Full Operation (2029-2033) – Launching the fully operational ETS with a view toward integration with the EU ETS. This initiative aligns with Ukraine's commitments under the 2014 EU Association Agreement and represents a significant step towards EU integration. Stay tuned for updates on this ambitious climate policy! 🌍💼 #Ukraine #ClimateAction #EmissionsTradingSystem #Sustainability #GHGReduction #EUIntegration #GreenTransition Source: https://lnkd.in/d9ktTk3n
