Building the next generation of young leaders in ASEAN and Australia.
About us
The ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership (AASYP) seeks to build on the strong relationship between ASEAN and Australia by inspiring the next generation of scholars, business people, public servants and social entrepreneurs to engage with the region. In 2014, ASEAN and Australia elevated their relationship to a Strategic Partnership at the government to government level. The creativity, ambition and power of youth should be harnessed to tackle regional challenges and areas of mutual interest. AASYP aims to inspire Australian and ASEAN youth to engage with each other to learn more about the region, ASEAN affairs and ASEAN-Australia cooperation. It also aims to bring greater visibility to the contributions of youth in strengthening the ASEAN-Australia relationship, to encourage collaboration amongst youth actively working to address regional challenges, and to share opportunities.

🌏 Our Delegates are truly the diamonds of the season with their impressive ideas, thoughts, and works over the Forum. We are so happy to highlights a few of these wonderful young leaders and recognise their works. In our 𝐀𝐀𝐒𝐘𝐏 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 publication, these three delegates have broadened our worlds with their articles. They bring education, agriculture-tech, and children rights straight to the conversations: ➖ Mr. Xavier Ng, Malaysia's Delegate - 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ➖ Ms. Lily Tao, Australia's Delegate - 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞: 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 ➖ Ms. Mikaela Jago, Australia's Delegate - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐞: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍’𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 Read full of their work and other delegates' works via our website: https://lnkd.in/gSaPbZCA 🌟 The Forum also proposed a Policy Pitch challenge for our Delegates and they excelled everything we had expected at them - and we had high expectations! We assigned our Delegates to different country teams that are not their nationalities and asked them to propose policy briefs for the topic of 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 ➖ Best Presentation - Team Indonesia ➖ Best Policy Brief - Team Myanmar ➖ Best Diplomacy - Team Australia With that, we ended our Forums with wonderful cultural performances by our Delegates. 🌏 Time flied and the Forum entered its final days with many friendships made and memories shared! On our last day, we chose "𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝" to be our main focus and a good way of ending this journey on a positive note. 💡 Our experts talked about how we can use tech to enable underrepresented voices, address climate risks, and protect our relationships with culture & nature. Our delegates heard about all of those ideas via 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 (Ms. Quyen Nguyen and Ms. Yolanda López Hernán), 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 (Ms. Chau Nguyen, Mr. Anh Ha Huy, Ms. Tuyen (Kelly) Vo), and 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐬 (Mr. Jason Martin Lusk, Ms. An Tran, Mr. Cuong Pham). ✨ And as we all knew that the end was near, we were all grateful because it had happened. Our closing remarks were delivered by Ms. Amalina Suprem, Brunei’s Delegate and Mr. Dev Bahl, Singapore’s Delegate. Our Directors - Anh Nguyen & Tahlia Beckitt and our COOs - Adelaide Pope & Shari Towns represented the Team to send a heartfelt message to all of our Delegates. We are nothing without our delegates, thank YOU! 🌟 H.E Tiffany McDonald, Australia’s Ambassador to ASEAN made a special appearance via virtual messages: "ASEAN is at the centre of our dynamic region, and you – as the next generation – are the custodians of the future of the ASEAN-Australia relationship. ... I wish you all the best for the future, a future where you will play an important role in advancing ASEAN-Australian relations: a partnership for the future." #AAYLF2024 #AASYP #ASEANYouth #AustralianYouth #YouthLeadership #Vietnam

🌏 As the momentum was going, our Forum entered Day 2 with 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 & 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 as the main theme. Technology advancement and innovation is everywhere and in every corner of our lives, even when we don’t even think about it. 💡 Our Delegates had the chance to hear from powerhouses in the fields via 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 (Ms. Hạ (Ella) Trịnh, Mr. Nguyễn Gia Hưng, Mr. Duy Duc Le, MBA), 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 - 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞 (Ms. Trang Vũ, Dr. Bradley McConachie, Ms. Ngan HO), and 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (Prof. Agnis Stibe, Ms. Olivia Nguyen, Dr. Huy Pham) panels. From cloud computing, web services, medical-tech, FinTech, to AI, our Panels cover them all! Our Delegates also had the time to get to know each other stories and practised some Policy Designing activities. ✨ 🌟 Day 2 ended with thought-provoking conversations, friendships, and a lot of laughs! #AAYLF2024 #AASYP #ASEANYouth #AustralianYouth #YouthLeadership #Vietnam
