  • Acqua Drill Resources were recently awarded Rio Tinto's Best Contractor Partner for 2023. This has been a truly humbling experience and one that would only be possible due to our dedicated employees who put in 100% day in, day out. A huge amount of appreciation also, for the entire team at Rio Tinto Copper for not only the nomination, but your unwavering support these past four-years. Your one-team approach is something we truly believe in and are fortunate to be part of. As part of this award process, Rio Tinto kindly donated $5,000 to a charity of our choosing. It's hard to look past the great work Telethon does across a range of charitable organizations supporting disadvantaged children across WA.

It was an absolute pleasure to be at Winu recently to celebrate one of our highly valued drilling partners, Acqua Drill Resources, for winning Best Contractor Partner in the 2023 Rio Tinto Safety Awards. Judged on performance in 2023, the business awards Rio Tinto sites, teams and contract partners who continue to demonstrate excellence and sustained safety performance, outstanding leadership, engagement, systems and processes, critical risk management, learning, and innovation. Acqua has always stood out to me as a company leading the charge in all of these areas. The safety maturity embedded in their teams demonstrates an outstanding ability to really understand and control risk in Winu’s remote environment and time and time again, they deliver safety at its best. It's an incredible achievement for Acqua and for the whole Winu workforce. My congratulations again to everyone involved. In celebration of this achievement Winu and Acqua will donate $5,000 to Telethon, as selected by Acqua. Providing broader benefit and giving back to our community is all part of the culture at Winu, and I know Brendon Elford, Acqua’s General Manager, shares our belief in the importance of supporting amazing initiatives like Telethon that will make a positive impact to some of WA’s most disadvantaged children. Good luck to everyone involved in fundraising this weekend and thank you again to Acqua for your ongoing commitment to continuous safety improvement. #Telethon2024 #telethon7 #safeworkmonth #onewinu #FindingBetterWays #Copper

  • Another 5-Year Milestone Reached...🏆 Acqua Drill Resources' supervisor Shane Gorring, receiving his five-year service award from ADR's General Manager Brendon Elford. Well done Shane and thank you for your dedication and effort put in these past five years.👏 Acqua Drill Resources now has nine current employees (10 if you count Molly the guard dog), who have reached this milestone. With another two expected to be awarded before the end of the calendar year. We also now have over 30% of our current workforce been with us for over five years, with some closer to ten.

  • Recently, we teamed up with DV Safe Phone. A non-profit organisation that collects, repairs, and donates used mobile phones to victims of domestic violence, via Law Enforcement and various Domestic Violence Agencies. Please consider this initiative before discarding your (working) mobile phone to landfills. To our employees, customers, suppliers, and associates who wish to participate, we will have a dedicated drop box for used phones in our office. • Last Friday, Acqua Drill Resources hosted a group of hydrogeologists to our inaugural ‘Introduction to Water-well Drilling & Rig Safety Day’ in collaboration with the Western Australia branch of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). The day involved walking around and discussing various hazards and controls around a typical drill pad, basic communication expectations, a look at common types of plant & equipment along with various down-hole-drilling tooling and bore construction materials used. We also had Tom Clifton from National Drilling Equipment (NDE) conduct a basic introduction to drilling fluids session for everyone, and had the Australian Drilling Industry Association (ADIA) CEO Jeff Miller, briefly speak about the importance of collaboration between the two associations. The day ended with a BBQ lunch and a quick demonstration of what our next-generation water-well rigs look like and some of the innovation and technology that is embedded within these machines. We look forward to hosting more informative sessions like this in due course and would like to thank everyone that came along. Lastly, a special shout out to those from within the IAH that assisted us in putting this all together.

  • EQUIPMENT SPOTLIGHT.. Atlas Copco Drillair compressors which are mounted on remotely operated solar-charged, 24v powered, 20' sea-container (jack-up) bases. This configuration not only allows for moving around onsite with our standard 8x8 flat-deck support trucks (eliminating the requirement to reverse trailers on our drill sites) but also enables our in-house transport division to collect and mobilise between projects with ease. It also results in crews operating/monitoring/servicing from ground level.
