An energy provider with a mission to shift Aus to 100% renewables faster. Go beyond offsetting and use more renewables ⚡

About us

Founded in 2017 by Chris Thompson and Dan Adams, Amber gives customers dynamic power prices that change depending on the real wholesale value of energy. Customers can pay less by charging your battery when energy is greener and cheaper as well as earn more by exporting when prices increase. Combined with Amber's smart tech, solar and battery owners have the power to supercharge their savings, take control of their battery and make their energy work harder for them. Amber is backed by some of Australia’s best accelerators and investors, including EnergyLab (Australia’s leading energy accelerator) and Startmate (Australia’s leading tech accelerator). Investors include Blackbird, Square Peg, Main Sequence, Commonwealth Bank and Black Sheep Capital. The company has won Startup Vic’s Impact Pitch Night, for the best startup focused on making a positive social impact and been named Victorian Start-up of the Year.

All I want for Christmas is... ⭐ bi-directional charging!⭐ 🚗 ⚡ Huge step forward this week with the announcement by the Federal Government of new standards that will allow for the rollout of V2G by the end of 2024. While the full extent of the V2G dream won't be realised overnight, this is a real boon to Amber's plans to rollout optimised V2G capabilities to EV owners across Australia next year. Most importantly, it's a critically important step in Australia's shift to a renewably-powered future - with households at the centre 🏠 Head to https://lnkd.in/egZj_jmJ to learn more and register your interest in being a part of Amber's V2G trial. And thanks for the mention CarExpert.com.au! 🤩 https://lnkd.in/ehyadRrD

Australians are rethinking their energy use - and it’s changing how we live. Part 1 of our study, Amber Unplugged: Australia’s Energy Habits Revealed, is out today and it explores how Aussies are currently navigating energy use guilt. We discovered that 86% of Queenslanders and 76% of South Australians feel guilty about using air conditioning, even on the hottest days. Aussies are charging devices at work, avoiding ovens for air fryers, and using libraries for free air con. At Amber, we believe there’s a better way. We empower households to stay cool and comfortable, using energy when renewables are abundant and prices are low - so you don’t have to choose between comfort and conscience.
