Last week, AMOG's Andrew Kilner attended the Floating Energy Research Forum, catching up with colleagues and friends, as well as meeting and learning from new industry connections and about the latest joint industry projects (#JIP): "It was great to learn about what some of the operators and suppliers are doing in mooring integrity and then learning about developments in the floating energy sector too." AMOG has proudly been a member of The Forum for many years, spearheading a number of JIPs. The FER Forum (previously known as the FPSO Forum) is made up of operators (both FPSO and #FOWT), contractors, yards, research institutes and safety authorities, who meet to share their experience and expertise in the offshore sector. Started more than 25 years ago, The Forum represents the complete lifecycle from concept development to operation, and looks at new research topics, challenges, and JIP initiatives that contribute to safe and reliable offshore designs and operations. Thank you to PRINCIPIA for a great venue and hosting such a well-organised and informative conference, we are looking forward to what comes next. #FERForum #FPSOForum #FPSO #offshoreenergy #floatingenergy #mooring

📢 Attention all Marine Energy Developers: As part of Ocean Energy Safety Institute (OESI)'s first Marine Energy Project Call in September 2023, AMOG, alongside Technip Energies and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) were awarded the rights to conduct a gap assessment between the oil & gas and marine energy industries. Marine Energy is an emerging industry that faces a range of challenges in the development of safe and efficient systems due to the novelty of technology and lack of clear guidance. The focus of the project is to catalogue the existing codes and standards in oil & gas and identify adoptable practices for developing marine energy devices. The assessment will also determine which areas of marine energy development are lacking appropriate direction and require further investigation. The project team are looking to host a virtual workshop on December 10th, 2024 (CST) where they plan on showcasing their results of the gap analysis. Industry members are invited to comment on the teams' findings and provide feedback relative to their own experiences and challenges in using existing guidelines to design marine energy devices. Reach out to Andrew Kilner, Andres Tovar, Craig Dillon-Gibbons, or Jacob Rodden if you would like to participate, or for more further information. #marineenergy #marineengineering
