At Anglicare Victoria, we work with children and families to build better tomorrows. We work because we know that, with the right support, people can achieve their goals. For some, this means keeping the family together in tough times. For others, it’s as straightforward as finding a way to pay the bills. And sometimes, it’s more than that. When the challenges our families face are too much to overcome alone, we’re there to provide practical, hands-on support. We offer children, young people and families expert help to resolve differences, build better relationships and find a place to belong. We work to build better tomorrows. We work for better.

A recent flood at Mums Supporting Families in Need (MSFIN) warehouse resulted in a loss of donations impacting more than 5,000 families who relied on MSFIN for Christmas food hampers and presents. In the spirit of community and compassion, a few of AV’s Frankston Integrated Family Service (IFS) practitioners spent a morning volunteering their time to help clean up the flood at MSFIN to help them get back on track and continue to serve those in need. MSFIN support our families with food hampers and clothing in times of hardship, so it was our duty to help out for a good cause, especially during the Christmas period. Great work IFS team and MSFIN in supporting and making a difference in our community this Christmas.

We are delighted to partner with the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria to deliver a new and innovative family violence counseling program that aims to address the problem at its source. Anglicare Victoria welcomes the expansion of family violence counselling services across the state, ensuring more people have access to the care and support they deserve. While affected partners and families remain our highest priority, our work also helps those who have used violence in the home to be accountable for their actions, confront unhealthy attitudes and learn practical techniques for managing difficult emotions like anger and frustration. These vital services help families rebuild their lives with safety and dignity. This milestone reflects our collective commitment to standing alongside those impacted by family violence and creating pathways to healing and recovery. Together, we’re building stronger, safer communities. 🌟 ➡️ Learn more about this important initiative: https://lnkd.in/gU_VMkTy #FamilyViolenceSupport #InnovativePrograms #StrongerCommunities

Family violence is a problem that affects people of all ages, genders, abilities, cultures and religious backgrounds - which means everyone has a responsibility to help stop it. When we join together as a community to raise awareness, create spaces where people can openly discuss these matters, and understand and challenge community attitudes towards family violence, we can create a society that supports and addresses the complex factors that drive and reinforce it. We encourage you to get involved, create belonging within your community and be an influence to promote change and awareness. Conversations in open and inclusive environments are powerful methods to make progress in our society and are an essential part of ending family violence. Let’s start talking... Anglicare Victoria staff joined the Walk Against Family Violence yesterday in Melbourne, walking in solidarity with victim survivors and their loved ones. The event signals the start of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, a global initiative dedicated to preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls. Starting this Monday 25th, the 16 Days of Activism is one way you and your community can show up, and take action to help end gender-based violence. This campaign is at the heart of what we do at AV. Throughout these 16 days, we stand with the community to work on preventing violence, promoting gender equity, and addressing cultural and social norms that drive violence. Enough is enough. #WhyWeWalk #WAFV2024 Respect Victoria

To wrap up Inclusion at Work Week, we would like to shine a light on two incredible women – Chrisanne and Harriet – both members of AV’s CALD Working Group and leaders in their respective fields. Chrisanne and Harriet also participate in the RISE (Realise, Inspire, Support, Energise) Project – an initiative designed to create pathways for culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) women to access leadership positions. The CALD Working Group, established in 2023, is AV’s newest Diversity and Inclusion initiative and both women play a key role in its mission. Tune in to hear Chrisanne and Harriet share their thoughts and discuss what inclusivity and diversity in the workplace mean to them and how they contribute to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, connected, and empowered to contribute their whole selves at work. #InclusionAtWorkWeek #DiversityCouncilOfAustralia #Leadership #Culture

AV is proud to announce that we have been named on Diversity Council Australia Ltd (DCA)'s annual list of Inclusive Employers for 2024-2025! This acknowledgement highlights AV’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees not only feel valued and supported but, in an environment where their diversity can thrive. AV’s participation in DCA’s Inclusive Employer Index measured employee diversity and inclusion experiences in the workplace. To be named on the Inclusive Employers List, we needed to measure well against the National Index benchmark across at least five key areas: ✔️Awareness ✔️Engagement ✔️Inclusive organisational climate ✔️Inclusive leadership ✔️Inclusive team And not only did we meet it, but we exceeded it! DCA CEO Lisa Annese said that "Recognition as an Inclusive Employer means your organisation is doing the necessary work to create a welcoming and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.” Workplace inclusion is not just about creating a positive work environment - it drives tangible business outcomes. DCA’s most recent Inclusion Work Index shows workplace inclusion significantly increases performance, wellbeing and innovation. To celebrate this achievement, take a look at our Inclusive Employer Index snapshot that highlights the uniqueness of our organisation and the diverse makeup of our team. We invite you to learn more about how we are driving positive change within AV. DCA announced its 2024-2025 Inclusive Employers list at the start of Inclusion at Work Week, an annual celebration led by DCA to recognise the efforts of Australian organisations working to foster inclusion in their workplace. Inclusion at Work Week runs from 18-22 November so join us this week for more insights and highlights from our team and take part in the conversation on what inclusion means to you! #InclusionAtWorkWeek #DiversityCouncilAustralia #Inclusion #Diversity

This week is a special edition of the Meet The Team series, celebrating the beginning of Inclusion at Work Week! Inclusion at Work Week is important to highlight what inclusion means to us and to showcase inspiring stories and people. Meet Jasbir Singh Suropada, Senior Practitioner for ParentZone in the Southern Region! We're catching up with Jasbir for this #MeetTheTeamMonday to discuss the Sikh faith and the CALD@AV Working Group. The CALD@AV Working Group sets the direction of AV’s approach to inclusion for culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse people. The group focuses on the needs of our clients and colleagues by discussing how we can make our services and workplace equitable for them and addressing the issues that perpetuate inequality. Watch below to learn more about how Jasbir's Sikh faith influences his work! #InclusionAtWorkWeek #DiversityCouncilAustralia Diversity Council Australia Ltd
