Our Animal Emergency Service hospital in Tanawha received some glowing feedback from Maleny Veterinary Services for their recent "Lunch & Learn" CPD training session. "I want to thank you for the opportunity in offering us such valuable learnings. Our team has loved every lunch and learn you have provided, we have been fortunate enough to have engaged in three - Ticks and Snakes; Blood Gas; and CRI's. The team have already tried many of the techniques put forward, and also loved the relaxed delivery and were able to have open discussions. Both Vets and Nurses alike were excited to implement and make some changes to some of our protocols, since these talks. We can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to come up the hill to see us." We’re excited to share an important article by our very own Dr Danielle Huston on the serious threat of tick paralysis affecting pets on the Sunshine Coast. 🐾 Did you know that ticks can be found in all areas, and the risk is year-round? Regular use of tick-prevention products is essential to keep your furry friends safe. 🛡️ Dr Danielle Huston emphasises the importance of early detection—watch for symptoms like wobbly legs or changes in breathing. Your quick action can make all the difference! 🩺 #TickParalysis #PetHealth #AnimalEmergencyService #SunshineCoast

Today is R U OK? Day, a powerful reminder of the importance of checking in with those around us. But it's more than just a day—it’s a movement that encourages meaningful conversations, any day of the year. 🌟 We’re showing our support with a special yellow banner on our website, but the real impact comes from reaching out to our colleagues, friends, and community. Across the nation, all of our hospital teams are putting on R U OK? Day events to help spread awareness and encourage these life-changing conversations. A simple "Are you OK?" can go a long way. Together, we can make a difference. 💛 #RUOKDay #MentalHealth #SupportEachOther #AnimalEmergencyAustralia #Wellbeing #VeterinaryProfessionals

It's #TakeYourDogToWorkDay! Show us a pic of your doggo hard at work with you. Whether you need a helping hand guarding the filing cabinet, licking envelopes, fetching the hammer, or just warming your lap… most would agree every workplace could use some doggy delight. This idea may sound barking mad, but studies show pets lower stress and anxiety, and bond teams. So having your excited furry companion along to ease the busy workday is a win-win for all!
