If Airbnb suddenly changed their platform so that it took on average 20 hours to book a single nights’ accommodation, they’d tank overnight. And yet, this seems to be the accepted norm in the world of online dating. Lonely singles are spending big chunks of their lives swiping and chatting on dating apps. One source suggests men spend an average of 95 minutes per day 😳. And from this massive time investment, only going on 1 or 2 dates a month. When you’re looking for somewhere to stay the night you probably want to check out the pictures to make sure it looks okay, glance over the list of amenities, possibly read through a handful of reviews before making a decision to spend your money and book the thing. You might take an hour weighing up the options to select somewhere to spend 18-ish hours of your life. Accommodation booking platforms are built for booking accommodation. Dating apps are NOT built for dating. But why shouldn’t it be any different?
