Highlights from the recent Orthopaedic Arthroplasty Master Class, where ArthroLase co-founder and chairperson, Professor Riaz Khan, shared valuable clinical insights. Scientific presentation of clinical results and exploration of innovative approaches are central to ArthroLase’s mission to restore vitality and movement for patients worldwide. #Laserboneshaping #Orthopaedics #Arthroplasty #HealthcareTransformation #MedicalInnovation
The risk of metal ion release was a focus for Orthopaedic Professor Riaz Khan at a recent Dual Mobility Master Class in which he compared various risk measures between Modular and Monoblock Dual Mobility Cups. Professor Khan cited a 10 fold increase in Adverse Reaction to Metal Debris (ARMD) in Modular DM systems compared to Monoblock systems. He also identified liner malpositioning and screw head encroachment against the metal liner as possible factors in this alarming result. These elements are not factors when using Monoblock systems like the Saturne cup which could explain its significantly reduced risks of ARMD and short to long term wear.
