Last night the South Australian Committee kicked off 2025 with its first CPD event presented by LK.   2025 is shaping up to be another big year – an upcoming Federal Election, changes to the ACCC merger approval regime, changes and increases to taxation on superannuation, and more. Guests were able to ‘wash away from the soul the dust of every-day life’ – a line from Picasso, and enjoy the Helpmann Academy Graduate Art Exhibition, before five short presentations around “What’s on the Horizon for In-House Legal in 2025”. Presenters explored emerging topics, including the new climate-related disclosure regime, recent privacy legislation and cybersecurity changes, a progress update on psycho-social safety obligations, and touched on corporate governance. LK adopted an innovative format for the event. The speakers were located amongst the casually seated and standing ACC members...a little like a team huddle! The aim being to create an informal setting and encourage discussion.
