This time last week Susan and I were pleased to attend a nostalgic and joyful evening to celebrate LEAD Professional Development Association Inc 40 years of supporting the community sector. LEAD provides training and development to community service practitioners who work tirelessly to support vulnerable children, young people and families. I am proud to have been working with LEAD for 7 years, supporting their team and organisational growth. As I enjoyed the evening, walking down memory-lane as we remembered the decades and the organisation’s milestones, there were many familiar faces I enjoyed reconnecting with including previous CEO’s (Catherine White, Kerry Palejs) whom I enjoyed working with and I felt proud to have been part of supporting the organisation over their journey. Only 5 weeks until Christmas... Does your business close over Christmas/New Year? You can ask your employees to use their Annual Leave over that time (if they are entitled to it). But most Modern Awards require you to give them at least 4 weeks notice (check your Award). So, now is the time to look at the calendar and start planning when you will close and later re-open.
