The festive season is here, and it can be so enjoyable, a chance to relax, reflect and enjoy the festitives. One of the fun parts is inviting your team to a Christmas party. But if you are hosting the event, it is still a work function, so it's important to be mindful of a few things. Although Christmas parties, have a very different feel to a workday, your workplace policies continue to apply, so responsible behaviour should still be expected of employees. This includes things like: a zero tolerance for sexual harrassment code of conduct expectations as your employees are still representing your business Merry Christmas 🎅🎁🎄

This time last week Susan and I were pleased to attend a nostalgic and joyful evening to celebrate LEAD Professional Development Association Inc 40 years of supporting the community sector.    LEAD provides training and development to community service practitioners who work tirelessly to support vulnerable children, young people and families.    I am proud to have been working with LEAD for 7 years, supporting their team and organisational growth. Only 5 weeks until Christmas... Does your business close over Christmas/New Year? You can ask your employees to use their Annual Leave over that time (if they are entitled to it). But most Modern Awards require you to give them at least 4 weeks notice (check your Award). So, now is the time to look at the calendar and start planning when you will close and later re-open.
