Our teams from the Northern Territory and Queensland welcomed students from their local Clontarf Academies recently to get up close with our operations and learn more about what we do at Aurizon. Students from the Clontarf Centralian Senior Academy visited our Alice Springs Rail Terminal for a site tour hosted by our Operations and Track teams, while students from the Wilsonton Academy in Queensland visited our Willowburn depot in Toowoomba for a site tour and to meet our team. We're proud to partner with the Clontarf Foundation and look forward to seeing their students achieve great success with their studies in 2025. #aurizon #clontarf #community

Growing regional Australia by delivering bulk commodities to the world.
About us
Aurizon is Australia’s largest rail-based freight operator and a top 50 ASX-listed company. Each year, we transport more than 250 million tonnes of Australian commodities, connecting miners, primary producers, and industry with international and domestic markets. We provide customers with integrated freight and logistics solutions across an extensive national rail and road network, traversing Australia. So no matter whether it’s turning on a light bulb or bringing home the groceries, the chances are we have played a part in delivering your everyday life. In addition to transportation, we own and operate one of the world’s largest coal rail networks with 2,700 kilometres of heavy haul rail infrastructure connecting mining customers in the Queensland coalfields with key ports. Our Operations business provides a range of specialist services to service the industry including rail design engineering, construction, management and maintenance and we offer large scale supply chain solutions to a diverse range of customers Australia-wide. While we’re incredibly proud of the work we do every day, we believe that our job isn’t just about transporting freight, it’s also about providing for our employees and transforming the communities where we live and work. That’s why we constantly strive to deliver a dynamic environment for our people and actively encourage equal opportunity employment in all areas of our business. It’s also why we support local charities and community groups at every level. Because we don’t just deliver freight, we deliver opportunity and value sustainability. Aurizon is a major contributor in the Australian economy, and we are well-placed to benefit from the continued long-term international demand for resources. As such we look forward to sharing our continued growth with our customers, employees, shareholders, our communities and the nation as a whole. For more information visit www.aurizon.com.au.

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve safety for traincrew and road users at level crossings, Aurizon captures video footage from forward-facing cameras on our locomotive fleet. The footage can be used to raise awareness, assist enforcement activities and to investigate potential improvements to road engineering and level crossings. Aurizon today is releasing footage of a near miss involving a heavy vehicle and coal train in Central Queensland. Luckily there were no injuries to either traincrew or the truck driver, but these events can have lasting psychological trauma for the people involved. The video is an important reminder of the devastating impact level crossing collisions can have on lives. We thank our traincrew for giving permission for this footage now to be released. Aurizon is working hard to improve rail safety for our traincrew, for motorists and local communities in which our employees live and work. If you would like to share this rail safety message with your community, Aurizon has a range of resources available here - https://lnkd.in/gNuvedwN If Aurizon operates in your area, please feel free to reach out to community@aurizon.com.au to see if one of our local team can visit to share this message with your group or your school. #aurizon #railsafety

Living, working and volunteering in our communities, thanks to our incredible people for making a difference. Two of our train drivers – Tom and Chimie from our Cloncurry depot in northwest Queensland – pulled on their gear over the weekend as Auxiliary Firefighters. They joined Mt Isa and Cloncurry firefighting crews – nine units in total - to battle a wildfire that was threatening MMG Mines. Together, crews were able to save the offices, front structures and site accommodation. Follow-up efforts over the next days, with crews and a firefighting helicopter, contained the fire, allowing the mine to resume operations. Tom and Chimie reported it was a hard slog in very hot conditions but incredibly satisfying for the local community and one of Aurizon’s key customers in North West Queensland. A huge thank-you to all involved!

Last week, Aurizon was thrilled to on-board a 100-strong workforce from Flinders Logistics to our business in South Australia. The acquisition allows Aurizon to provide stevedoring services at Port Adelaide and Port Pirie in South Australia and continue to grow our supply chain offering to customers. These ports handle a variety of products including mineral sands, iron ore, copper, concentrates and soda ash. It’s a logical step for Aurizon, with existing and future customers, as we deliver additional options for rail and port services, including stevedoring and warehousing. Welcome aboard to our new team and we look forward to continued growth and success! #aurizon
