The AFAC Seasonal Bushfire Outlook for Autumn 2025 identifies an increased risk of fire for areas between Perth and Carnarvon in WA, and stretching eastwards across much of the Australian mainland’s southern coastline through SA to Gippsland in Victoria. The areas marked in red on the map represent an increased risk of fire, largely driven by very dry conditions in the lead up to autumn, combined with increased amount of bushfire fuel to burn. Temperatures are also predicted to continue to remain above normal for most of the country. Read the full #BushfireOutlook: https://lnkd.in/gbhEr4EF

The National Resource Sharing Centre (NRSC) continues to play a critical role in supporting the coordination of resources across the country as agencies respond to escalating fire and weather events. Over the past few weeks, working alongside the Resource Managers Group, we’ve facilitated deployments to Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, and now Western Australia— responding quickly to get resources where they are needed most. Recent deployments include: Tasmania – Supporting fire activity. Western Australia – Responding to Tropical Cyclone Zelia and, more recently, the fires impacting the lower southwest of the state. This also includes the redeployment of the National Aviation Asset fleet. These deployments highlight the strength of collaboration across Australian fire and emergency services. A huge thank you to all agencies and personnel involved in these coordinated and ongoing efforts. I am extremely proud of the work we do at AFAC NRSC and the team of dedicated Resource Managers from across the countries agencies.
