About us

The Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI) is the only national association for two-way trade and investment between Australia and the Arab League countries. AACCI is a member of the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture and has fostered strong links with the Australian State and Federal governments since it began in 1975. The Arab League comprises over 400 million people over 22 country states, including Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. AACCI’s mission is to assist Australian companies exporting to or expanding into Middle East and North African (MENA) markets and Arab companies looking to invest in Australia. We specialise in providing members with commercial intelligence, business matching and networking opportunities. Our program of members’ events features Australian and Arabic speakers with MENA-focussed business expertise, creating great opportunities for members to network and gather up-to-date commercial intelligence on the Arab business world. Our goal is to expand two-way trade and strengthen economic and political cooperation between Australia and the Arab world. AACCI has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Canberra. Each of these offices manages an extensive member network and program of events to facilitate business networking at senior levels, and vigorously promotes trade through inbound and outbound trade activities.

  • The 2024 ACCI National Trade Survey has been released, showing the main challenges and opportunities import and export businesses face in trading with the world. To mark the release, last night ACCI hosted a panel discussion featuring ANZ’s Head of Australian Economics Adam Boyton, Port of Melbourne CEO Saul Cannon, Australian Centre for International Trade and Investment Executive Director Prudence Gordon and Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA CEO Christopher Rodwell.   The Survey shows that: -Australian businesses are not standing still, with 4 in 5 businesses surveyed saying they’ve taken action over the last 12 months to manage their international market risks. -Almost two-thirds of respondents are exploring new trade markets, with India topping the list as the market most respondents are looking towards. -Australian exporters view their reputation as an Australian exporter as a key competitive strength they have when trading internationally, alongside the opportunities they get from Australia's growing network of free trade agreements.   We acknowledge ANZ Bank’s continued support for the ACCI National Trade Survey.   Read the media release➡️ https://lnkd.in/gsh4Ns94 Read the survey results➡️ https://lnkd.in/gEvkZjK2

  • Showcasing World-Class Approaches to Water and Food Sustainability in Regional Victoria – Greater Shepparton   AACCI Victoria in collaboration with Rubicon Water initiated the business visit to Shepparton with the aim of showcasing world-class approaches to water and sustainability in Regional Victoria to HE Mr Haitham Mokhtar, Consul General for the Arab Republic of Egypt to Melbourne. The business program was developed with the support from Global Victoria and the Shepparton City Council.   The tour provided first-hand insights into the innovative approaches adopted in the Shepparton region for water management, technology, food production, and manufacturing.   The visit started in Nagambie with a meet and greet coffee, followed by a stop at the 17 Mile Regulator site. The 17 Mile Regulator is one of the primary regulating structures that autonomously measures and controls the water flow within the Goulburn-Murray Irrigation district (GMID). Automated farm meters and secondary canal offtakes are in proximity together with a solar-powered communications node.   The program further included visits to the following:   - Aquatec | Australasia's Leading Pump Station & Pressure ... a leading provider of innovative solutions in water, wastewater, and odour control across Australasia.   - Rubicon Water | Innovative Irrigation Solutions manufacturing facility is spread over three hectares with 10,300m2 under-roof and can produce more than 5,000 integrated control gate and meter devices per year.   - SPC for Factory Established in 1918, SPC is a proud manufacturer of fruit and vegetables, based in the Goulburn Valley Region of Victoria.   - Shepparton City Council Networking Lunch It was great to see again AACCI friends at the Shepparton City Council, Economic Development. HE Consul General, AACCI, Rubicon Water and Global Victoria were warmly welcomed by Cr Shane Sali, Mayor of Greater Shepparton City. The lunch was held at the Fruit Growers Victoria and attended by a number of local businesses. Following brief speeches and a short film showcasing the Great Shepparton Regions, lively networking over lunch ensued.   3.00pm: Goulburn-Murray Water Authority Following lunch/presentation, the last visit on the program was to Goulburn Murray Water (GMW) head office in Tatura. GMW manages the Goulburn-Murray Irrigation District (GMID). From the control centre GMW oversees the operation of an area covering approximately 400,000 hectares of irrigated land. The GMID has around 11,500 irrigation customers, more than 4,900 automated FlumeGates automating the flow of water to these irrigators. In sum, it was a very impressive program showcasing companies striving to be leaders in their fields with world class technologies, R&D, manufacturing capabilities, products and services.   AACCI sincerely thanks all companies for their time, hospitality and sharing their business journeys.
